Car Insurance Help

I've been looking on these comparison sites for the cheapest insurance premium without a black box for my 1.2 Corsa SXI and it's been coming up with £1800. I've been changing the details and I changed the answer to 'how long have you held your license for' to a year as I had originally been putting the answer to 11 months as that's how long I have had my license. After putting a year I found that the cheapest insurance without a black box was now £1100, most insurers dropped their premiums by anywhere from £400 - £800. I'm not sure as to what I should do now? Should I get temporary insurance for a month until I get to the 1 year threshold of holding my license? Should I phone up the insurers and tell them about this and see what they can do for me?

Get a quote for a month temp cover and do the sums

If any insurance agent tells you to just put down a year then get it in writing!

And when you play around with quotes online do it anonymously. When you change material items you may trigger anti fraud measures

I'm not with anyone at the moment, I've only just put down a deposit for the car and I'm going to purchase it on Wednesday.

I've tried to find temporary cover for a month but a lot of the short term insurers aren't willing to offer me temporary cover for a month due to my age...

Buy it (or another of the thousands of Corsas available) in a month's time.

Looks like it's already been bought!

Maybe SORN it for a month?

(We know you are impatient to get on the road - but from the figures you quote you could ride round in a taxi for a month and still make a good saving!)

We've already agreed on the deal so I can't really back out now. I think I should try phoning up some insurers and see what they are willing to offer?

Keep it off road safe for a month then, save yourself alot of money.

    Try Endsleigh insurance
  • Son has a damaged Alloy wheel (standard manufacturer fit) that will cost £190 to replace the one Alloy. Can purchase an alternative new full set for £330 but if he does this insurance company won't insure him as he's 19 but will if he pays the £190 for the one damaged. ?????
