    Jackie this is from Gov.uk:

Workers must be at least school leaving age (last Friday in June of the school year they turn 16) to get the National Minimum Wage. They must be 25 or over to get the National Living Wage.

Contracts for payments below the minimum wage are not legally binding. The worker is still entitled to the National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage.

Workers are also entitled to the correct minimum wage if they’re:
    part-time

Also,if your council requires child employment permits, if any child is employed without a valid permit the employer will not be insured against any accidents.

    Afternoon all

Well done on the job Speky!
Have a lovely time at the party JackieO.
Glad Evie enjoyed her run RR, would love to see a photo of her with a smart new haircut.
tru - your holiday cottage looks fabulous, hope you enjoy it. Have you thought about getting Scampi a playmate? It may calm him down.
csarina - I hope OH gets home soon.

Well, I've been busy! A friend (actually a friend of the childrens) asked me to help her move house so I went over (70 mile drive) on Thursday morning to find her with a house full of carp spread all over the place, she hadn't done anything at all! The removal men came about 10 and took the heavy stuff to put into storage, I made 5 trips to the tip and 1 to the charity shop whilst she tried to sort things. We gave up about 5pm, packed up the car with things to take to her dads, came home and went back again at 5.30 the next morning. Anyway, another tip run, cleaned and packed the car up again and came back. I have warned her never to get in that kind of mess again, she clearly lives in a complete guddle and doesn't seem to think anything of it!

Had to collect DS2 from the airport at 10 last night, took him into Glasgow this morning for a new shirt (his didn't fit!) and he's gone off to a wedding in Edinburgh. Visited DD with her birthday pressies and took her to the SM and I've come home to tidy up!

Off to a 50th birthday party tonight, can't wait to get home and go to bed! Have a good weekend. Take care. XX

Arrived at the guest house in Faversham and its gorgeous ,spotlessly clean and well stocked with tea/coffee making stuff and even chocolate biscuits :)Just putting my feet up and having a surf on the net. Very comfortable bed and well stocked with everything anyone could want in a good guest house. Have to be at the venue for the birthday bash around 6.30 so she doesn't know who is in there :) so going to have a quick shower and spruce myself up a bit.

Hope you all have a good weekend

    cheers chums
    JackieO xx

P.S. Thanks for the info Floss, Jack was 16 last February and is going into 6th form in September xx
