Why do you deserve to win?

Seriously, has anyone worked out an even tolerable answer to this. I can't think of anything to say that doesn't make me want to crawl into a hole. Almost as bad is 'Why should we pick you?'

I just won one like this on Facebook by posting a cgi picture of a sad kitten and the message "Pick me or the kitten gets it". It did match the soh of the site owner however! I can't work out how to post pictures here or I would show you.

surely it should be random unless they say our favourite will win (and then they're supposed to say what their judging criteria will be ie the funniest wins)

If I really like the prize I enter these sorts of comps by saying "I don't deserve to win any more than anyone else, but I would love to."

It hasn't won me anything yet!:rotfl:
I hate those questions, it's such a lazy way of running a comp and only encourages sob stories.

Lol. At least that's a decent, honest answer. I usually avoid these comps like the plague, because I don't want to make stuff up or say someone is sick 'cos I think it's bad karma and the comping fairy might fall out with me. I have entered a couple in the past with 'Because I haven't got one' but some of those posting are professionals, you can't compete with some of them.
I always read what others have wrote though.
Wait till Christmas, it's going to be a lot of fun.

I only enter these comps if it is a random choice of winners and then I say something simple like 'I want to win because I like the prize'. No sob stories from me....and I do have a sob story - but not a one that I wish to share with the world....
