I would question why you bought a house with no parking.
I would question why you asked that. A bit of lateral thinking could produce a possible answer. Maybe the OP's neighbours didn't have multiple cars when the bought. You know what uranium is, right? It's this thing called nuclear weapons. And other things. Like lots of things are done with uranium. Including some bad things.

Front garden is very steep, will require the removal of about as much soil as would be contained in a garage! Could just have rocky dirt as the surface and it would still be very expensive!
Depending on the soil and geometry it sounds as though a retaining structure may be necessary, which is a bit more expensive than removing the soil.0 -
How does it reduce parking?I would question why you bought a house with no parking.
One of my neighbours has moved away and been replaced with someone with 5 cars (2 on their driveway, 3 outside other people's houses).
Since I moved in I've seen a regular stream of lorries delivery materials and driveways being constructed. The situation is going to get worse I fear.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0 -
Those of us in the 'know' tend to carry two number plate covers to place over our number plates when parking in residents permit areas when working on a prson's house/0

When I bought this house 26 years ago off street parking was a must have tick box even though on road parking is fairly plentiful.0

Its the explosion in car ownership + kids living at home longer that one of the main causes
in our close all houses have a double drive, when I look back at videos of kids playing in garden/street ( been here 20 years) there was no on street parking at all
Now a number of the houses have 4 or 5 or cars0 -
Be careful what you wish for - you may very well end up with resident permits, with a maximum number per household, which is the only practicable way to do that. Then you'll be asking why you have to pay to park outside your own house, and why the price keeps going up.
Or even worse, the way that Neath Port Talbot Council administer theirs. Say you lease a car, your name isn't on the V5 so you don't have a V5. Or you have a company car. Want to get a parking permit so you can park outside or close to your house? No dice. You have to have the V5 and be the registered keeper of the vehicle.0 -
