Hi.
I'm intending to upgrade a desktop and have looked at the crucial site to work out what I need. Are they the best supplier quality wise or are they just keenly priced ? Basically I'm looking for recommendations - my OH just squeaked up 'Kingston - get Kingston - Dell use them - must be OK'.... whilst I can't fault his logic completely (yeah right) - he knows more about cars than memory. So what do you reckon?
Dell Dimension 8300
XP SP2
512Mb currently (want to go up to a 1 or 1.5 gig)
Thanks in advance!

OCZ, Geil, Crucial, Corsair, Kingston - all much of a muchness as far as the average non-overclocking use is concerned.

Best memory I have came courtesy of a little blonde...... :rotfl:I haven't been asked to tell you that I'm the Board Drunk for this board. As the night wears on, my posts will become worse, with simple spelling mistakes, inane ramblings, and a blatant disregard for the truth. I have no authority to do anything, so there's no point asking or telling me. If you see me past midnight, please tell me to get my coat and order me a taxi.

God makes pretty good memory - lasts quite a while and more than a few gigabyte....:-)"To be ignorant of one's ignorance is the malady of the ignorant." Amos Bronson Alcott0

But seriously - I added Crucial and the memory seems to be good - their service was v good indeed."To be ignorant of one's ignorance is the malady of the ignorant." Amos Bronson Alcott0 -

I believe crucial do a lifetime warranty or something like that and is tested for compatibility problems providing you choose the memory via their motherboard selection process. I'm not sure about others mentioned above0
