Urgent help regarding paying with Credit Card abroad

Came to Spain yesterday on a sunshine holiday for 2 weeks. Brought half euros & will use my post office credit card (it's not the platinum card) for meals. Will spend approx £800 on it. It has a 0% rate for the next 12 months.

I will not be withdrawing cash on it.

I think the card incurs a 2.99% transaction charge?

Should I pay in sterling or Euros?

Realise I should have brought a different card but stuck with this one now. Urgent guidance greatly appreciated.

Euros. Always.

Always pay in the local currency. When you get offered English or Euors at the card terminal the exchange rate is ridculous lus they have their own fee's built in. My wife saved £5 the other week buying some perfume.

Yes but isn't that better than a 5%-10% + one that you will likely get if you let the retailer apply there own conversion rate?
