Do you enjoy your job?

I would be interested to hear from the people who enjoy their jobs what it is they do for a living.
I am an Administrator within a healthcare setting and would love to try something different, but I have no idea what it is I'don't like to do.0 -
I work overnight replenishing shelves for Tesco.
I joined them back in May after hating my previous job for a long time (working in a petrol station).
The first few weeks I was uncertain; I'll be honest. But as time has progressed it's gotten better. We all have a laugh together. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
I love my job been here since leaving uni, now joint director of the software co. My staff seem to like it here too. We're flexible with start times and lunches, if staff want a couple of hours, no problem. We don't track holiday requests formally, (after first 12 months anyway), full pay even if off sick/maternity (staff are hardly ever 'ill'), get to play pool, there's a dart board other end of office, barbecues and beer next to the river outside the office, play games consoles, watch TV, take our quadcopters out, we've been on group holidays and we sometimes go out drinking (when we're not sick of the sight of each other!). Its like working with a bunch of mates, except we get paid (very well) for it, our 18 year old apprentices get near £8 an hour even though legal is something insulting like £3.50 for example. Work hard, play harder. If someone is struggling, then staff are more than willing to help out even 'after hours'. Not lost a member of staff yet, doubled size of workforce over last 5 years. Company is making more in a month that we used to in a year, happy staff, happy company.0

My job is for the most part mind numbingly boring. Will be 60 next year .. would be ok if I could retire then .. but 66!!! I could weep thinking about it.0

I worked in the same job for 4 years. Didn't mind the people I worked for but I think the staff you work with make or break a job and they broke it for me a few times:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one

some very interesting replies, it seems most do enjoy their job.
I just have that nagging feeling still that my job is wrong for me, the hours and flexible working are great, but I am not enjoying it. If I can stick in out for 2 years I am open to apply for other roles within the business so I could move to another area which may be more interesting. But I just can;t help thinking in my mind nutrition is my true love, the question is how to get there. I need to get qualified but the costs are huge and I feel I have left it too late as I have a mortgage etc. So need to continue to work while I train catch 22.0 -
Everyone must want my job. Work from home, good pay and all expenses paid for. I do like it, but as mentioned on a previous thread, despite all my efforts, I am not performing as well as I, and the management team, would have expected. Being 26, I contemplated taking the job for more than a week as I thought at my age, working from home with no one around and for a company where everyone is at least 20 years older than you are would be a massive mental challenge.
Turned out I was right but with that said, however this ends up, it's been an experience. If I do end up leaving, I definitely would consider the culture of the company a lot more than I did with this one. This job would be great if I was in my late 30's, had children and wanted something a bit slower pace. At 26, just a little boring at the moment and hard to motivate myself. Find myself procrastinating a lot like now!0 -
I started a new job earlier this year in the healthcare industry and I love it, absolutely love it. I love the carers I work with, the residents and the families. It's such a rewarding job.
The only thing I hate is the management. The main manager has gone on sick leave for a few months and she has recruited a stand in. She's not even been gone a month yet and he is demoting people left right and centre. Makes me worried, but other than that, I love it0 -
Yep, enjoy mine. Good employer, decent salary, good benefits. I get worked hard, but it's not mind sapping stuff."An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".
