As above, VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda are all owned by VAG and all share common parts. This may well be a lot cheaper. For a £4.5k car, I wouldn't bother with Audi servicing and use an independent instead.

I'd agree - I used main dealer servicing until it hit 100k, then went independent.

A3 platform is transverse in all engine configurations.

A4, A6, A8 platform are longitudinal.
