Retaining credit when moving from PAYG to contract
I've just signed up to a 12 month sim contract with Three. I have £25 PAYG credit left. On the online chat they said it would move across and cover the first few bills (£8.40 a month intro rate for 6 months).
I went to do it online and their website only says the first month. Who is right?
And if it's only the first month (£8.50) what happens to rest of my credit. Can I get it back? Thanks

I was originally on PAYG with Three before moving to a contract with them... The change over didn't go smoothly, it's a while ago, but I don't recall the PAYG credit being moved to my contract account, from memory it wasn't much money, perhaps £2 or £3. In general, PAYG seems to be a "use it or lose it" kind to deal.
I wanted to retain the PAYG number, however the contract SIM came with another number and swapping numbers with the same network was a problem... It took 2 or 3 weeks before the back room techs at 3 managed to sort it. Speaking with the Indian call centre staff it was always "it will work tomorrow", but it took the involvement of the CEO's office to kick ar** and resolve it. I got a free month of contract for the messing around.0 -
Which PAYG tariff are you on?
Just finding it hard to understand why you would have £25 credit on a PAYG account.
The only PAYG tariff that 3 offers at the moment, is 321, which uses real money to buy texts and calls etc. If you're on an older legacy tariff though, then you'll probably have had use of the free text and data allowances that came with the topup. If that's the case, then although you technically have £25 credit, you've still had benefit from that in the form of the allowances that accompanied the topup - so IMO I don't think you should get the whole lot back and 1 month seems fair.0
