Do i just stop the direct debit ?
I have had a contract with the mighty vodafone for years. I want to end the contract. Voda told me that the only way to do this was to write in, which I did. Unfortunately the letter was not recieved by vodafone & my contract is still in place. They keep on insisting that the only way to stop the contract is to write in. Somehow I feel there isn't much point.

Always a good way to severe and lingering financial problems. No! Write again, THIS time recorded delivery. Check it's tracked and been delivered then waste zero time in calling. They can be utterly abysmal to deal with but don't make things worse!0

I can see it may cause issues but the phone has not even been switched on in the last 6 weeks & the contract has been running for nearly 3 years so well over the min 12 months.
I just can't believe that I need to send a tracked letter to an apparently world class corporation to sort this out.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0 -
You really should have used recorded in the first place.
It is now your word against theirs.0 -
Really sorry to hear of the trouble you're having. If the letter didn't reach Vodafone due to postal problems, then your account has correctly remained active.
Rather than this dragging on any longer, why don't you drop us an email on we'll try and help get this sorted. If you use the Online Contact Form to send us an email, enclosing FIT135 anywhere in the body of the text, myself or one of my colleagues will be happy to help out.

How about requesting a PAC code and then porting the number to a PAYG sim card? I've always been able to do that over the phone and it always kills the contract.Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0

Thanks everyone & to faza20 for the advice. I had sent a e-mail using the online form but was told either a fax or a letter was needed & that no letter had apparently been recieved. I have replied to the mail on 2 occasions but at the moment have yet to get a reply.
I have now sent a fax so I have the record of the communication. If I don't hear in a couple of days from voda then a letter with a copy of the fax and transmission details will be sent.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0
