Just keep your eye on the prize, it's an easier journey if there is a goal at the end of it will help on the darker days, I often lurk over to the MFW diaries keeps me focused on where I eventually want to be
Thanks very much, it's just frustrating as the amount we pay on rent would be equivalent to a 300K mortgage but our debts need to go! We are also having some issues with our landlord. But I will focus on shifting the debt first!0 -
Feeling a bit deflated today. I didn't get an interview for the job I applied for the other day. I've already managed to spend £25 day one of holiday and that's with us bringing food for lunch and Tesco restaurant vouchers. No sales as shop is on holiday, Oh wage £60 less than anticipated  I struggle with back problems and today have woken up in agony0

Had a nice day in the end after my moan. I've decided I'm on holiday so I need to try and enjoy it and not worry about money ( whilst being careful). We went to Aldi to buy some bread, ham and fruit so that was lunch sorted and then used Tesco vouchers for dinner again.0

Morning,
Neck is still playing up so I've had to book physio (£40:() but if it helps then it is worth it. I think I will go £50 over budget on this trip but i'm not too upset about that as I did spend £9 on nappies, £15 on a jumper and shoes and £16 on a top for hubby. My daughter needed more jumpers and i'm desperate for shoes. Hubby didn't need the t shirt but he works hard and hardly spends money. The good news is we managed to get two days of free parking meaning a saving of £14! I think we have been quite good and have been stopping at Aldi and buying bread, ham and fruit and croissaints for brekkie.
Still having house problems and have a feeling we might have to move soon, so def need to get an emergency fund sorted as will need to pay nearly 3k between deposit and rent upfront ( we do have £1800 against our current house but won't get that until we move out).
Sales are still bad but am hoping it's becuase of the holidays. I've seen a couple of other jobs i'm going to apply for so fingers crossed I will get one soon or at least that my sales will improve.0 -
It's definitely worth the £40 if the physio helps. I spend £25 a month on reflexology at the moment, but it is amazing during the pregnancy and apparently helps with labour/birth so in my eyes it's money well spent! Nappies are so expensive! Ds is only in them at night now, but we've started stocking up for baby number 2!

Def agree, if it's helps you physically and mentally that's priceless. Weather has been awful here0 -
Back from trip one and did go over budget but I knew I would and not as bad as it could have been. I've had a few sales for my business and privately which is good. Just sorted the accounts out. Two more trips left for this summer holidays. When we are back, we then will need to stick to a very tight budget as have only allocated £150 for food for September until the 20th which should be doable but will need to include a birthday cake for my son but I should need no cleaning products or toilet paper. Still not sure what is going on with the house but will just have to wait and see.
I'm meeting a friend for lunch tomorrow but will use a gift card so hoping it will technically be a nsd apart from postage for sold items which I don't really include. Hoping Wednesday will be a nsd aswell.0 -
Nsd today:jinfact I have been given two books for free from Amazon, they gave me someone else's order so I called them to let them know and they said as I had been honest I can keep them - I think I will use them as christmas presents. I opened something that I bought whilst away and found it all broken so had to bin it, I emailed the company and they are giving me a full refund.
I have managed to do two washes and hang them outside and have made another sale privately which I have had to relist about 5 times! Business sales are quite quiet but am hoping things will pick up in September as people start buying some online christmas presents.0 -
I am back from trip two and we went over budget by £50:mad: all we bought was food but it was very expensive. We have another trip booked for this holiday and one at Christmas ( these were all booked before starting my diary). I really would like this holiday to be within budget and a lot more relaxing as the others have been quite active!
I will need to move some money around to ensure there is enough for all spending to come out. I have made an overpayment on a cc. I'm saving money each month for presents, hair cuts etc but still would like an bigger emergency fund but then think about the credit cards and should I clear them ( all but one now are currently on 0% but some are ending this year). I would mainly like to cut the minimums each month. Sales have been slow but made some.
In September I would like to lose one stone ( at least start to lose it) , sort CV out, apply for any suitable jobs including from home ones, have many nsd ( maybe 20:cool: ) pay a bit more off the credit cards, sort my business out and try and find more to sell privately, do more surveys and mystery shops.
I have several washes to do but the weather isn't looking great here so I will have to use the tumble dryer as need it dry for tomorrow!
Today should be a nsd.0 -
Quick update, looked at the accounts and they are not looking great, once everything that has been allocated comes out, I won't have much left in the savings. Once I'm back we will need to be on a very tight budget.
Managed to haggle my contents insurance so that's a £25.50 saving for a quick phone call which I'm pleased about and money is allocated.
Today hasn't been a nsd as I forgot we needed milk!
Hung some of the washing out but it then started to chuck it down:eek:0
