Can you pay of the very account and close it down?
Do they charge for the balance transfer? If there is a charge I definitely wouldn't do it.

I can’t afford to clear the very unless I do a trader. There is a fee of 3.99 but I will be charged interest in months to come on the very.
  • If you are close to being charged interest on the Very then yes balance transfer it as they usually have high interest rates especially if the fee is only £3.99. Then close it. Same goes for next. The less opportunities for credit for you the better really. Why aren't you including it as debt?

I’m not sure why I’ve never included catalogues etc on my spreadsheets.
  • Catalogue debt is usually expensive.

    Morning,

The very is the only one I have a balance on. Our debt wasn’t made up from buying lots of goods. I have hardly any clothes, our tv is over ten years old that we got free at the time etc.

Dd is still unwell and been up during the night. Today I need to:

    Check finances
    Change and wash bed sheets
    Clean the floors
    Pack and post business item
    Pick up ds prescription
    Put my prescription in

Have a lovely and frugal day everyone.

I really hope me being frugal continues to be such an enjoyment. I baked my dad a cake for his bday instead of buying him one and it’s part of his present! I got the chn to make dh a Xmas card and I typed him a letter as his Xmas card. The turkey got cancelled a few weeks ago and I have typed lists of what food I need weekly as in the basics and written lots of meal ideas that are cheap. I did worn dh that we will be having once a week jacket potato, cheese and beans on toast , plain pasta and home made pizza!

How is DD tonight ? Go you with all your money saving ideas. I love your menu I could eat those things every week , in fact I think I do.

She is a bit better thanks but still full of cold. I love foods like that and being nice and cheap is a bonus.

    Morning,

I’ve been thinking a lot about my financial situation and am even considering an Iva which I’ve always been against due to the implications however I’m not sure if we can carry on paying the amount we do every month for this to fully increase from Feb to over £900 per month on just debt. I worked out that even if we cleared £10k that would only reduce our minimums by £200! It just feels like it will never go and how long can we live such a frugal life... just writing my thoughts on here.

Hope everyone has a nice frugal weekend.
  • You need to bear in mind that family debt will not be accounted for in a DMP or IVA so whatever SOA you put forward is not going to allow for the £275 per month you pay your family.
