Nobody will slay you for doing an SOA or putting your debt total on your signature. Everyone is on the same journey as you , for some it's short others it's longer.
Maybe telling people on this forum will relieve some of your worry , as it's out in the open then so to speak.

I think owning up to the debt as such will motivate you more. At the moment there is no record as such of any progress and you do a lot of money shuffling using balance transfers. This only helps if it is a long deal and you increase the payments to clear the debt within the deal period. Having no record on progress almost gives you permission to just carry on as before thinking you are clearing debt but in reality just moving it.
Posting an soa also helps to keep you on track. Spending within budget is your key to getting out of this mess. Most people on here have been in your position so you will not be judged.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I think you've been given some great advice above. I think posting a debt sig will hold you more accountable and will motivate you to pay more off it.
I find it very very hard to live within my means and my budget. I am still struggling with this one too xTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Morning,
I've woken up on holiday feeling very determined to stick to a budget when I get back and really watch the food budget in particular. Ideally I would also like to allocate some money for the last two weeks of the summer holiday as it's not realistic to have nothing as I have plans.0 -
I've done it, I've logged my debt on my signature. Absolutely humiliated and no idea how it got so bad but I'm definitely a lot more determined!0

Well done, and no need at all to be humiliated. We've all been or are in a similar situation. Is the cc debt spread over several cards? If so, would it be better to list them individually so that you have smaller targets to work towards, which will make things seem so much more manageable. Are you on a dmp or are you doing it yourself.
From now on, things are only going to get better. That was a big step this morning. Well done.Starting a new debt free journeyStarting Debt: £5,250Current Debt: £4,995.50Amount Paid: £254.50 Percentage Paid: 4.84%Emergency Fund: £3500 -
Well done for logging it. You are by no means the only one who has that amount of debt and you are trying to do something about it.
When you get home why not post an soa and let us suggest ways of cutting down? Budgeting for entertainment on school holidays makes sense. You have to live when you are on a long hard journey.
A useful exercise is to think of things you think has allowed the debt to get so high. Was there anything specific like cars, holidays or just general overspending over a long period of time? I am guessing that the reason you are struggling is because it has now got to such a level that servicing the debt takes up a large proportion of your income.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thanks. It's over several credit cards and we are doing it ourselves. Will log individually later as I've just put the laptop away as kids wide awake and wanting breakfast, I really appreciate your reply as I'm really embarrassed of our debt x0
