    Hi,

I am ok thanks. Just plodding along but still feels like all I do is spend money at the minute!

    Hi,

I'm still plodding along but feeling slightly more motivated. My food budget has been doing very well. I'm trying hard to split any extra money I get between debt and savings. It all adds up!

    Hi,

The truth is I haven't been on here much as I haven't been feeling that happy and feeling sorry for myself over this debt. I didn't see the point of coming on here and telling every one how down I feel about this ridiculous amount of debt. I was starting to feel really suffocating by the debt to be honest. I look at things as a whole too much and it has severely deteriorated my mental health.

Fingers crossed to a new positive me!

My debt amount on my signature was wrong as in less so have updated that.

    Positives:

    Washing is hanging outside.
I found £4 in a different coat pocket
I have decided to update here again
  • Well done for coming back and facing the facts. I know it's cheesy but "the journey of 1,000 miles starts with a single step.". It'll be a long hard slog, but you can chip away at it bit by bit. Try and set yourself monthly, quarterly or even annual goals and put them in the tracker too. Something like 5% reduction in debt by xyz date. Then you can break that down into even smaller chunks. I find that this kind of approach really helps me deal with big unattainable goals.

I'm a year and a half into my own debt-free journey and have not come as far as I would have liked, but I have reduced my debt by over 20%, and it's continuously going into the right direction - I feel in control and this has had a massive effect on my mental health.

I think once you get into a place where you can see the debt starting to go down steadily, however slowly, you'll feel a sense of relief and will be able to start moving on from the feelings of doom.

Really wish you all the best in your journey. I know it seems hopeless now, but I promise you you can do it.

How about starting by posting an up to date SOA?

Have you looked at YNAB at all? It's literally changed the way I budget and given me a much more realistic picture of what's actually going on in my finances, can't recommend it enough!

Well done with your debt reduction! I might post a new soa but there could be a financial change happening soon ( for the better) so I'll see if that goes ahead.
  • Ooh, sounds promising, fingers crossed it'll happen for you. Might be just the kind of nudge that'll kick you into action. :)

    :hello: Debtaghh

Glad you are back and never threw the towel in. As tempting as it is (believe me I know) keep going. You are definitely going in the right direction regardless of speed.

I think me and you take turns on being up and down. :D

Fingers crossed your new positive change will come soon
