Yes I would do that as you will save £48 on the fee and then transfer as much of the next target card as possible so your DH's Tesco if that is the next deal expiring and going to a high rate.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Morning,
It's been a bit mad lately and on top of that I've been feeling a little sorry for myself. But hopefully that stage is now passing. Dd got her GCSEs results last week but then it was trying to sort out which a levels she wanted to do knowing the results that she got.
I have been really disciplined with the food shop. I have an £8 off Waitrose voucher with a £40 spend to be used by Sunday. Do you think it's worth I use it and bulk buy meat or something? Just wondering if it's worth it.0 -
Waitrose is really expensive so £40 there won't buy as much as it would in Lidls or Aldis or even Asda. I get those £40 vouchers all the time and rarely bother.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I can't believe how quick the time goes. The school holidays have flown by. I've been back to work and the chn back to school , packed lunches all ready for tomorrow.
I am really pleased that I seem to be managing our food budget well. Nothing much else to report really , just plodding along0 -
Hi,
My dh is always against money transfers but we have had a really good offer and my dh wants us to cash £5k off the credit card to have as savings towards things we don't have money for e.g car issues, clothing. I don't feel that keen on it as it will be adding debt, I see his point that we need the money for those bits etc and at the minute we are trying to battle saving and clearing debt. Whereas if we took out the 5k we would then just focus on debt. It will cost us 1% admin fee and interest free for 2 years. It would mean us having money for school trips, car servicing, mot, annual prescription and one big issue is dental work. My dh has major issues with his teeth and has been putting it off and he went the other day to see how much it will all cost and that alone is about £1.5k!!! This has been an issue for years and it has got to a point where he has teeth falling out. I know it's not ideal but not sure what else to do.0 -
On a more positive note, I've been sticking to my grocery budget as I have changed my tactic. I have started to buy in bulk and just buy milk, bread and fruit on a weekly basis.0

This is just adding more debt to your already considerable debt. You will have a further £5k to service and juggle and I strongly urge you not to go down this path. If you cannot afford to save then you cannot afford more debt.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I understand what you're saying. But not sure what else to do as things still need paying. My dh has put off work on his mouth for years and it's just got worse. The issue we have is we try and save and clear debt at the same time. For example when we get paid at the end of the month we should have a minimum of £400 to pay off extra debt.0
