Fair enough, looks like it's a filtration plant, canned food, guns, ammo etc for your investments.

Many a true word said in jest:rotfl:
When you've passed the 3 score and ten mark, by a bit, they are no longer My investments, they are the Kids/Grandkids/GreatGrandkids.and they won't invest it, they will blow the lot.
Perhaps I should while I can:-)
Aegean sounds nice, this time year:-).

Same here, now might be the time to consolidate;;Mandatory mind you.:)
You would think that all this Brass the Gov are lending to the banks at super low interest, they would need some back,so I await another pensioner bond from NS&I and stick the lot in there.

Your posts, Joe, sound a bit apoplectic at times WADR. Now that you've declared your advancing years, it might be a good time to remind you to think about your ageing heart and what the banks are doing to it, by proxy.

There are no interest rates in the next world - so I'm told :)

Yes,They are a business, but Usuary is still illegal as far as I know.
None went to jail for the scandals did they.
I know what appeals to them, POWER and MONEY.They go hand in hand.
It's not a different thing, it's all in their Business Plan as a whole.
    You cannot Nitpick.
They offer you their Sprat, and catch a Mackeral, then, they will do their best to bleed you.
I have said all along, Banks are a Cartel.
If you jump ship, you end up in another of similar ilk.
We cannot do without them , and they know that, so we are at their mercy.
If you think they are doing us any favours, as you say," we should feel lucky",for their altruism, 3%>1.5%+ fee increase, I don't feel lucky, why should I, it's business:).

Not once have I suggested that banks deserve any sympathy. On the contrary I have stated that they don't deserve any. What I have said is that it doesn't make any business sense for the banks to pay any more than they need and so we shouldn't be surprised that rates will drop.

Why you've brought ppi into the equation is beyond me but after reading your rambling post I've come to the conclusion that there's no point in continuing the discussion.

Don't worry schiff, nowt wrong with my ticker.:)
Young ones have heart attacks as well you know.
As you say, no interest in the next world, something I don't believe in either.:Opium for the masses.:rotfl:
As I am leaving my body to Science,Gratis,no charge, I know where I'm going.:)
Won't be long before there's none in this world either,as a saver.
No pockets in a shroud, so plan on spending as much as I can, before I go.:)
The kids can have the rest, or before I go, already done a lot of that.

You say they don't deserve any sympathy, that's ok then in your eyes.
Bob Diamond, Fred the Shred et.al should be behind bars now, in my eyes, but not if you were on the jury, they were only doing business, it makes sense..

That is not a view that I hold so I respectfully request that you retract them and refrain from attributing quotes to me that I have not made.

    Thought discussion was over?
    Sorry if you took offence.Retracted!
You are obviously not a banker, as they are thick skinned, but you tend to be on their side , in most of your posts I read.

The forum is not for the faint hearted.
    Discussion over now.
    For me anyway.
    Suggest moderator if not happy.

May I suggest, joe1234, if you want to keep criticising bankers and banks at every opportunity, that you move all of your money to one of the 'ethical banks'.

You then won't have to deal with those that accept the logic that banks such as Santander operate to maximise their profits and not their customers - like most businesses.

Go on then, I'll bite - what actual crimes are you accusing them of? Not all the kneejerk tabloid panto villain stuff about "they caused the crash, they brought the economy to its knees, yada, yada" but real and specific criminal acts....
