  • Hi - sorry I have a quick question that someone who reads this thread may know: If I wanted to buy £160 item and I had £60 in vouchers and £100 on my advantage card could I pay this way?? - many thanks

    regards Babymoneyblagger x-x

The SA told me that I couldn't do this when I asked. Apparently you have to have enough points to pay in full for your item & if you don't, you can't top it up with cash or vouchers.

If you buy something with your points though and you change your mind, and return it, but without a receipt, they give you a gift card for the amount ....

Not that you would do that on purpose of course, but just in case you did.

I'm afraid the general policy is that they don't. If you return without a receipt you are now entitled to an exchange, not a gift card. You can always try it with the SA but CS say they're not meant to.

  • Been reading all about the bargains everyone seems to find but neither of our boots branches have had much but today I went into the small boots - again the big one had nothing and found some items with a sign marked 90% off and another sign saying does not apply to clearance stickers. I bought three washbags £5 each, some moisturiser £3 (all 90% off) and some toothbrush heads 99p (clearance). SA put through till and charged £18.99. When I said that I had got it from right behind her and it was 90% off she couldn't believe it and then asked how on earth she was supposed to work it out. She didn't have a button on the till to do it for her! Duh!!! so I said I'd do it. It all came to £2.45 as for some reason the toothbrushes came through at 65p! Finally I have got a bargain from Boots!
