Google play music. Can't sign up.

Hoping someone can help,

I'm trying to sign up to google play music so I can upload my music library and listen on the go. But it keeps just looping back and I can't get passed the add card part.

I click no thanks to subscribing to the £9.99 service, it asks me to add my card to verify my county, I've tried with my card and paypal account, it says it's been successful then just takes me back to the first page (asking for me to sign up to the monthly service or not). Each transaction shows up in my google wallet as successful (charged at £0) bnut i just keep going around in a loop. When i download the app on my phone it tells me to go to the site and create an account.

Anyone have any idea whats causing this and how I can get past it and actually sign up? I've tried in chrome and firefox.

You don't need to pay to upload your music to Google music, it's free for up to 50,000 songs......
Download the Google music app to your PC and it will automatically upload your music folder - or whatever folder you point it to -
All done with your Google sign in...
If you want other bits you have to sign up for the subscription. This is where you are going wrong.
I use it regularly and haven't paid anything....
Log into Google and open the music app.

That's what I'm trying to do. Access the free version to upload my music. I tried to download the google music app but it kept directing me back too google music website and putting me back in the same loop

Thanks. I am using that but it keeps redirecting me to the sign up page. and I end up back in the sign up loop.

Using what? there are three links there....
Back to basics.....Do you have a google account? If not go to the first link....Forget the music until you have this.
Also clear your browser history, cookies and cache.

I had installed the desktop managed but on sign in it simply diverted me to the Google music play website to sign up. And then I was stuck in a loop.

Yes I have a Google account. Have had one for years.

As soon as I selected the premium £9.99 option it let me sign up. So I did that then cancelled it. Seems it just didn't want me to sign up to the free version.


It's beyond slow though. I left it uploading when I went to bed and it's only uploaded 1000 songs. At this rate it will take weeks to upload (on VM's 150mb connection, wired to the router).


But it's free so happy days!

Strange.....Still, you are now sorted..
I'm on VM150 - 10Mb upload, I left it running overnight and it managed 6,000 songs by the morning. How many is it uploading for you?
Once it's done, it uploads as and when you add to the folder.
As you say, it's free.....Works great with Chromecast as well..

I left it overnight at it had done 1200 when j checked it at 1pm.

Since 1 it's only uploaded another 180 songs. No sure why it's taking so long.
Yeah I figure it takes as long as it takes once they're up there it will just be uploading albums as and when I add them.

Haha you have to laugh. I restarted the PC to apply an update now I'm just stuck on the spinning with the windows 10 start up screen.

There are days when I truly love technology and days like this when I can't effing stand it.


I only replaced the hard drive and did a full restore last bloody week. My Laptop went belly up this week too.
