Just do it, I've got them 2 accounts with the 2 DD's for my Halifax reward account.

Can't remember, I know it was quick, maybe something in the post to send back that you sign so maybe a week.

Once you have 1 opened its easy to open the other 1.

I don't recall having to sign anything for either Tesco savings account, but I was an existing customer at the time of application. Had to sign a form for both current accounts though.

It's only hassle if they can't verify your ID electronically.

Pretty sure that will be almost instantaneous.

Opening the accounts should be Ok to do online and should be pretty instant.
But... you are wanting to use the new accounts for Direct Debits.
You can request the DDs online so only a matter of minutes, but the setup will take a few days. I assume Tesco does some checking on the account you want to link to and that takes a while.

Finally I have done it, have opened Internet Saver and Instant Access Saver and it took less just under 15 min
first payment going out on the 11/8/16 and than every 5th of the month
