Nationwide Account. Available balance and Balance error???

Hello,
For the last 5 days, I have had a £1 difference between my available balance and my balance. I know, both through the receipts I have kept over the last week and through memory that I haven't spent an exact pound on anything, I also have no outstanding payments or have had no cheques paid into my account so I know it isn't anything like that. How long should I leave this before contacting Nationwide????

Just in case this is not a test:
I thought this was standard practice to ensure there is a minimum mount in the account although Nationwide don't mention it.Free thinker.:cool:0 -
I have also seen the same situation with a £1 difference on my nationwide account. I concluded that some future payment was the cause. The £1 was never debited on the account and disappeared eventually.0

Thanks for the link. Pre-authorization could very well be the problem.0 -
I just notice from my NW account, people could upgrade from Flex A/C to become a Flex direct A/C
What I am not sure is that do we get 5% again by doing this. Has anyone tried it ??
If this one works we could actually get 5% for indefinite period e.g. as soon the Flex direct reached one year, downgrade it to Flex A/C and then upgrade it again and repeat the iteration for indefinite ...
I know the system could detect whether we have two Flex direct a/c and will therefore only pay one a.c 5% interest on one a/c, so there is no point try to upgrade two a/c at the same time span ..
Any pm or answer in this forum will be very much appreciated ...0 -

I tried this a while ago but they reduced the rate to 1% after a few days. However I have heard some success if you switch a FlexDirect out and then open another straight away as the switched account no longer shows as a closed FlexDirect, merely a switched account so there's no clear way they can tell it was a FlexDirect.0 -

What I normally do is that after one year I downgrade it to flex a/c to avoid paying £1000 a month + to restart my clock for 5% on FD again.
What you are saying my understanding is that, do not downgrade to flex a/c but switch out to another bank (possibly also with switching incentive) and then open a new on as soon as the switch completed. Am I understand correctly ???0
