New iphone SE is on the way 😀
Which is the best slim, transparent case so the phone colour/design is still completely visible but protected? Happy to pay a bit more for a good quality one and ideally the edges (the bumper part) slightly grippy material.

Spent ages looking online but not found one that jumps out in terms of reviews.

I have a Moshi one for my 6+, this appears to be the equivalent for the SE:http://www.moshi.com/iglaze-xt-for-iphone-5-5s#xt

I use a Griffin Identity case on my SE, not sure if they are available with a clear back though, see eBay item 191847206842 for a typical example.

My SE is Space Grey and looks fine in a black and red Identity case
  • I have Hoco cover for it which suits it much more. Found it on Amazon for just $15.

Slightly off topic, but you will all have opinions.

I'm due to change my phone next month, currently have an iPhone 5.

I'll go with either iPhone 6 or SE. What are your views on the SE please ?

My OH and myself each had an iPhone 5, purchased outright from Apple (SIM free). Last May we traded them at an Apple Store for 2 x SE iPhones. Again SIM free. The staff at the Apple Store were nothing short of brilliant with assisting us to change over all the settings, photos, apps, ensuring the old phones were securely wiped etc, to the new phones. I am quite IT literate but it was a nice experience.

Back to the SE, I didn't want a larger phone as I carry mine in my shirt pocket and while my OH carries hers in a handbag, she was quite happy with a "same size" replacement, she uses a leather diary style of case in a leather colour to match her handbag...

The features of both phones are virtually identical, it's just a size and cost thing. Although, there is a certain elegance to the smaller phone.

We have experienced no issues or faults with either phone, there were some users complaining about Bluetooth audio when used hands free in a car, neither of us have any such issues and by the way, on same network (3) calls, the speech quality is noticeably improved compared to the older iPhone 5. And you get potentially better coverage due to both the SE and 6/6S having more frequency bands than a 5.

If you are buying one outright, I would recommend dealing directly with Apple, they have EU wide support, have really helpful and knowledgable staff and are SIM free (Argos and Carphone Warehouse say they are SIM free but lock to the first SIM inserted).
