Don't forget the supermarkets. Last batch of DVD's I bought were Kodak ones on BOGOF in Tesco, they worked out cheaper than Tesco own brand and cheaper than anywhere online. The last time I bought CDs was the same, Sony ones were BOGOF in Tesco.

SVP are good though, especially if you want a particular brand or are looking for Dual Layer discs.

  • Whatever you do, make sure you get branded ones. Ideally a well known name.

I remember buying a big roll of 100 CDs (not DVDs) from Maplin some years ago. No brand, no labelling.

They were almost transparent and nearly 60% of them developed creeping holes and became unreadable within about 6 months after burning. If you trust data to them you need to be sure they'll be at least nominally reliable.
  • svp for me too!!
  • Another vote for svp here, but make sure you don't skimp on price. You get what you pay for when it comes to blank dvd's, Verbatim & Taiyo Yuden are widely accepted to be the best

    Hi
The '+' and '-' are different technologies.
Check which type is supported by your DVD writer (or DVD recorder).
    Many machines will support both.
