Hi, can an afternoon girl join you? This thread is more like a natter round the kitchen table, I like that. Oh and I will make the afternoon tea. Something old? Hmmm
Ok, here we go. I used to live in Chelmsford, good old Essex, with my boyfriend at that time. We used to collect vintage clothing, then catch the train to London at the weekend, head off to the Portabello rd market and sell them. This was in the 1970s. I really loved 1940s style clothing, and I used to keep and wear my favourite finds back then. Well, time went on, I split up with that man, and eventually went to live and work in Jersey. It was well known over there, that I loved and sort vintage clothing. As we all know, Jersey was under German occupation during WW2. So, many residents that could fled to British mainland. Some workmen Came and found me one day. They had to clear an old house, and it had remained untouched since the 1940s. They took me to the place, after they were sure it was safe. A trip back in time, oh the dust!! Miss Haversham had nothing on this place ha ha. There were some locked trunks, obviously the owner intended to come back for them. How very sad, as I do not know anything more about that. Anyway, they were full of 1940s clothing, and just my size. I still have a jacket, that I just could not part with, and it still fits. So, do I qualify to join you?

When I was a very small girl, my Mother would put on the radio, sit me on her lap, all ready for listen with Mother. When I was a little older, she would put on the TV, and sit me down ready for Watch with Mother. Except, this time I watched it alone, as Mother was busy with my baby sister.
So, "Are you sitting comfortably?" Then I'll begin.
I wonder what happened to Andy Pandy. Was he a basket case? Well he did hang around with Loopy Lou, didn't he? I think I caught a glimpse of him, some years later on Des O'Connor.
Do you think the Flower Pot Men, ever learnt to speak English (Flub a dub)? Did they get asylum? Or were they deported back to the garden shed?
Where did Busy Lizzie and little Mo go? I think little Mo, grew up to become Bjork.
What about the Wooden Tops. Did little Willie get any bigger? Did Spotty Dog get cured? Oh, poor Spotty, do you remember his walk?
Ok, I have finished my tea. I will leave with a 'Thought for Today'
Is it better to have a slow computer, and an active mind, or, a fast computer and a baffled mind?
