    Hi everyone,

I had a busy weekend at DILtobe's hen do. It was a fairly tame affair thankfully, afternoon tea and karaoke in a hired cottage with a visit to Go Ape for the younger element. There were quite a few revelations I could have done without though, I'm not a prude and wasn't shocked but there are some things I'd rather not know about my son and his future wifefrom!

Yesterday was hi-jacked by trying to track down the paperwork from mum's estate because my brother is divorcing and needs info. Of course one vital letter wasn't there so I spent the day going through our own filing. I found it and sorted out a lot of paperwork so all in all it was a productive day.

As it's gone cooler today I might go dress shopping for the wedding, perhaps just a trip to East for something floaty because Italy will still be very warm in September.

    Have a good day.

    Gooood morning all,

Many thanks for the birthday wishes, very kind.

TA - Enjoy Skipton today. Hope the weather is dry.
Tru - Sorry to hear about Ruby :(

The interview yesterday wen't very well. They admitted that they have only approached me and they've not even advertised the job internally or externally yet. The job description and salary wasn't set in stone but they were able to give me a rough idea and said they'd send something more concrete over to me today. It's my dream company to work for but my concern is that it's not a step up in the ladder, more a step sideways or even back ever so slightly. I'm also unsure if they can match my current salary but we'll find that out soon.

Today I woke up with my GF wide awake throwing presents at me. She's was more excited that I was! My colleague had a Next VIP slot for the sale and I asked him to buy me a pair of much needed sungalsses that were reduced by something like 70% but when they arrived I didn't like them. I told my GF this story and she's went and bought me the ones I was after and knowing how un-MSE she is, she'll have paid full price!!

At work today despite my manager urging me to take it off so after work there's a small gathering at home with some pizzas. As a man who loves nothing more than regal icing, my only request was a small birthday cake.

Anyways, have a lovely day everyone :)

Morning all and thanks nmlc for the thread,

    Happy Birthday Speky :D

Congrats to TA on the new arrivals and I hope your shopping trip goes well.
Candlelight - well done to your DH on the gardening, sounds like you made good progress.
HH - that's terrible about the hirer being rude to your DH. People can be so nasty.
AOD - hope your DH doesn't have too long a wait for his shoes
Hilstep - good to hear from you, take care of yourself xx
    Flutterby - any news????

I'm enjoying the fist cuppa of the day having had a lie in - virtually unheard of for me as I'm an early bird by nature, whereas DH could sleep in until lunchtime! I'm off today as TOIL for an expo I attended for the charity. DH and DS2 are away until Friday evening, so DD and I will go to Bromley later as she needs a few things and I need to buy something for FILs birthday on Sunday. It's also SIL to be's birthday (on the same day) and BILs on 10th. Got their presents yesterday, and under budget, so just need to wrap.

Saw a lovely vase reduced in Laura Ashley yesterday which would be great for MILs birthday in September. If they have it in the Bromley store I might just get it too. Saves shopping nearer the time.

Dinner tonight will be pizza, salad and coleslaw. Ds1 is not usually here for tea and reheats later, so no point making a huge effort just for DD and I! Washing is on and I will peg it out before I go out. Some ironing to do later too.

Hope you all have a great day

  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

A lot cooler here, for which I am thankful, last night I had to pull up the light quilt over the duvet, I was cold.

OH tells me, no gardening today, the ground is so hard, it's difficult to dig. Yesterday's laundry dry, just a pair of shorts to iron, the rest has been folded to pu away.

Plan for today..... My sewing room looks like a bomb has hit it, so will be dragging stuff out and sorting fabrics into the right box. I also have to find room for another machine box somewhere hmmmmm..

Not sure about supper tonight we have calebrese we need to use up and the green bean glut has started. Might do sausage and mash.

    Morning everyone

Glorious again down here in Kent, lovely cycle along the prom. Have loads of indoor jobs to do, but they can wait!

Dinner tonight will be whatever the lottie offers up and something to go with it, I have a good stock in the freezer.

Great fun playing over the Internet with granddaughter, I got a hobby horse and she was really funny interacting with it, talking to it and trying to grab it.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I've woken up in a really great mood even though the sky is dark grey. It was so nice to read through everybody's news this morning and there is so much to be thankful for.

My friend's visit went very well yesterday, I am so pleased because sometimes she can be very hard work as she has bipolar. I love her loads and she is like a sister to me. We drank tea and ate cake and it was lovely.

The girls are all still in bed so I am enjoying the peace for now. They are actually getting on at the moment which is great and unusual. After payday next Friday I will treat them to a trip to the cinema as they are great girls really.

I am actually going to do some proper cooking in a minute instead of just opening a packet and putting it in the oven. I fancy beef and cheesy butternut squash, it's an old weightwatchers recipe and I will make a macaroni cheese for the girls.

Wishing Speky a very Happy Birthday x
Hoping flutterby doesn't have to wait for too long
Congratulations TA on the arrival of 2 beautiful babies
Tru, I was sorry to hear about your poor Ruby.
snoozer, I was the same at my daughter's hen night a couple of weeks ago. I stayed for the meal but the 'party games' were a bit rude and I didn't think she would want her mum involved :D.
I would love a ragdoll kitten Islandmaid well I would love any kitten to be honest but our cat would have a very different opinion I would imagine. Enjoy your cuddles.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

We have a Korat too. They are supposed to bring luck to your house. Given the house wrecking features of her and her half sister who has a Korat mum and a Burmese dad, they are both lucky I still let them live here :rotfl:

    Happy Birthday Speky
