Hi,
I was recently a student (living away) but having to pay rent taught me a great deal, mainly a lot more respect for my parents for paying for everything for me throughout life. As a result I would not be able to live at home and not pay rent easily beacuse I would feel guilty (unless I was not earning). It's unfair to let my parents pay for me forever cos it could mean I can get a nice car and xbox etc., yet they're buying texco value everything and scrimping. etc..0 -

Also a lot of the student re-sell their books back to the librearies to be sold at at about 1/3 of the cost to new students - get him to check that out. Also Ebay can give you some bargains!!!
Never ever buy new books!!!
I wholeheartedly agree - anyone who buys their reading list before they start will more than likely be wasting shed loads of cash!!! Wait and see what is really needed before getting books.
OP - glad you've agreed on a figure - it's always better to come to a mutual arrangement imo.0
