    No, the issue is that TalkTalk don't want people to ring them and have staff trained to sort out problems they want people to contact them in one of two very specific ways which enables their 'bots' to offer a scripted response, which in the OPs case is clearly no bloody help.

    Oh and the rep could have messaged a link.

    You clearly feel very strongly about this.

    Personally, when I had an issue I chose the online chat method to communicate and the person on the other end sorted it.
    Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.

    I don't think they could ... I think the PM facility is disabled for Company Reps.

    Not sure I feel that strongly about it and I agree that the online chat is good for 'standard' or simple problems but I don't think the OP has one of those which is why I highlighted that the solution given by the TalkTalk rep was not particularly helpful.
