Sorry Huggle. You arent the only one on here by any means. At least 3 others I read about have OHs that simply haven't had their LBM, must be so incredibly frustrating for you/ the other thrifty partners.

How annoying HM. Well done for talking about it after though instead of letting it fester. Hope he sees the light soon

  • Blimey what a week, a good week but very busy. It's my busy time in my second job as we run indoor competitions for primary schools and secondary schools on top of my normal role. All good though as the pennies add up for the month. Lots of work to run them, imagine 240 primary school children cheering on their team mates!

Finances are OK, all up to date and planned for the next period between my pay day on 15th up to next pay day on 25th. It was dd birthday on Tuesday and we even had enough to go out for tea so really pleased. No extra payments made towards computer and still waiting for a cashback payment to be payable, it's been sitting in confirmed for ages.

Another busy week coming up and next weekend my best friend and hubby are coming to visit so need to have a few no spend days before then.

Dh is being a good man. no drinking and lots of menus for food. No sign of contract but I haven't had time to phone my boss to chase it up.

That's it really, nothing exciting but nothing bad either so I can live with that.

240 primary kids sounds like a headache and a half! Well done you for not buying wine and pizza after that! Sounds like you're experiencing the positive side of being busy- no time to spend money! Hope if continues going well for you

  • Good morning, had a lovely day yesterday mainly chilling out watching the Rugby but did do 3 loads of laundry. We spent Friday evening doing all the cleaning in the house so that we didn't have to do it over the weekend. Another 3 loads of laundry today then nearly up to date just some towels to do.

DH went out early this morning to do a long run around a lake and the kids are pottering around. I have been a good neighbour and passed on some clothes to the lady across the road, I know they don't have much and one of their kids is poorly and had a heart operation recently so rather they help out than go to a charity shop every time.

Quiet day again today but I do need to print out lots of bits and pieces for the competition tomorrow and a course I'm running after that, a 12 hour day tomorrow so need to make sure I'm prepared.

Itching to make a payment to computer, I want to round it down to £400 but have to hang tight until money is paid in.

I haven't updated current plans and predicted expenses for a while so here they are up to Xmas:
    * Weekend with bestie, will try and keeping spending down.
    * Weekend for running event - need £100 for cottage, fuel and food.
    * Kids and niece's Xmas presents, I have a few things for niece already but I need to set a budget for the rest.
    * Food for Xmas at Mum's house - I have some vouchers for supermarkets so they will help.
    * Skip for rubbish in front garden - I WILL get this done before Xmas!

I think that's enough to be getting on with without spreading ourselves too thin.

Well done for passing your clothes on to your neighbour. You are right it is good to help people near by as much as we can.

  • Phew a very busy day, slightly concerned that some of the kids were sick during the competition they were saying that the lines on the floor of the hall were blurry when they were running but I think maybe they got a bit warm and exerted themselves too much. Never had that problem before!

Lots and lots of good things happening in second job, long may it continue.

My good deed yesterday was returned when a lady passed on a car park ticket this afternoon, so I was able to go for a little walk before my coaching session. I was in the beautiful town of Llangollen, if you search for a photo of the river you'll see how fantastic it is and looked wonderful in it's Autumn colours.

I did manage to get home earlier than planned and a £10 give voucher from a survey site had arrived in the post.

Tomorrow is pay day, I'm on a course all day so won't be able to go shopping until the evening. Need to do a meal plan tonight.

  • Sounds like you've had a nice relaxing day.

Poor kids though, could it be a bug going round?

Yay to pay day tomorrow x
