Forgot to say that insurance company sent through a revised email this morning and the changes I wanted were on there so going to let it run to renewal. One day I might actually saved up the monthly cost to pay it in full, hmm now there's a thought I can do that between home and car insurance if I saved £50 a month in a separate account then I would have enough by next year to pay in full therefore saving money, I know any already do this but this is the first time that I'm able to do this.
How come I'm earning less but making huge strides towards the debt and my extra time is helping to sort out the debt and collect items on freecycle etc. There's something to be said about being time rich rather than financially!0 -
I used to pay mine up front but other things needed paying so that money was used but that's my aim for next year it to pay the car insurance and house insurance upfront and save on the nasty interest xxNEXT TARGET: Halifax credit card DEC 22 £0 / £4499.12POAMAYC 2011 £6378.35 POAMAYC 2012 £5000.78POAMAYC 2013 £3480.04 POAMAYC 2014 £4085.14POAMAYC 2015 £7565.24 POAMAYC 2016 £8000.90 POAMAYC 2017 £7278.80 POAMAYC 2018 £13208.18POAMAYC 2019 £13309.28 POAMAYC 2020 £15026.050

Mmm nothing better than the smell of a joint of beef roasting in the oven for a late lunch, I am very hungry!
This morning I picked up the desk and it's lovely, we've been really lucky with the items we've got recently - very nice of people to give away things. I've also passed on some toys on freecycle and the chap has literally been to collect them. Had a chat with the family especially ds and we are going to have the same carpet throughout the upstairs and in the attic so ds bedroom will be painted with paint we already have in the shed saving another fair chunk of money.
I need to speak to dh about food budgets as we still, yes still, could do so much better with this.
Surveys are minimal today but I have cashed out for a Tesco voucher that will be saved for Xmas, so £30 now towards food and drink for the festive period.
I read a thread on the MFW thread last night and it was really inspiring to see what hard work and determination could do for achieving your dreams, so I paid another £5 off the overdraft.
After lunch will be putting away the laundry and will see if there's a family film on the box.

Hi, just wanted to say i'm loving your diary and have subscribed.
Have a great day.x.0 -
HI Penny thanks for your message, it's great that we can all share the good and bad bits of being a dfw and life too - such a supportive forum.
This morning we popped out for a few small bits, I'm getting good at sourcing the best prices for some of my shopping e.g. Ic*land milk is 99p compare to £1 at T8sco only a penny but over the course of a few weeks little savings like that really add up and I definitely need help with my shopping budget.
Just checking in quickly before I go out and do my second caching session of the day and then a club visit, I've cashed out £20 from PA so will send that over to the overdraft I need to update a few things on ynab but otherwise all OK.
I have a large item for sale on fb for £100, no interest as yet but will give it a little while.
Out working all day tomorrow so won't be home until late afternoon, lets hope the weather stays nice as we're outside!

I'm shattered today, we had 21 kids this morning and 8 this afternoon and the rain was on and off all day plus a thunder storm this afternoon but the kids were all good and we did as much as we could.
I checked TCB and had some confirmed payments ready so I've also cashed out from there and therefore sent a payment of £50 to the overdraft including yesterdays PA payout, so now at £700 to go yay!
I need to do my report and expenses tomorrow to send over to work, not as much as last month but I've not used the car much either so haven't filled up with fuel very often.
The family have decided that we should get a cat, me being the ever practical and doom maker reminded them all about the costs and after initially being irritated and saying that I'm saying no they actually realised that I am quite right and have made a list of everything that needs to be taken into account. Nothing is happening until we get back from London anyway so will give them time to look at where they want to get things from.
Day at home tomorrow, right off to make tea despite being tired I will not succumb to a takeaway.

Another little survey payout so another £5 sent to overdraft, now in the £600's at £695!

Well I didn't expect to pay anything to overdraft today but then the reward from my current account went in and I've paid another £5 off.
Relaxed day today although I have been doing bits and pieces including sending my work report and expenses, only £100 to come in mileage but I've only put in £80 of fuel for the whole of July so not bad at all. I do have lots of planning to do for work but to be honest I'm in a cba mood this afternoon, I do need to phone a chap later about some big plans though so I hope that goes well.
I need to plan all the bits and pieces for London e.g. money for toll, money for parking etc. really excited about the event on Saturday as we should see Mo and Usian in their last track competitions!
My parents are home from holiday and they are having the kids tomorrow night as I need to drop the car off for service and MOT early Friday morning in the next town, planning on running home to get my workout in. Should be a quiet weekend although my sibling is visiting my parents for the weekend with her husband and youngest kid, I hope they don't remember where we live so I don't have to speak to them. Haven't got on since we were kids and long story about everything since then.
Easy tea today of sausage and chips, told you I cba! :-)

Evening x
No payments today but we are enjoying a bottle of wine each whilst kids are at my parents as today we had some good news, dh had inquired about working in a different department at his work as it's more pay and more opportunity to learn different parts of the trade so if 10 years time when the place may close he has more chance of applying for jobs and being successful. However it meant 10 hour days and alternate weekends plus he wouldn't have his company van so would have to get another car.
His 2 bosses of his department wanted to keep him and the regional manager also had good things to say about him so they've given him a 10% pay rise from 1st August plus he works his usual 8 hours and has his van :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j plus he can still learn different aspects of the job. He's on a massive high this evening!
So I'm thinking pay off debt quicker and still be able to save a bit, not sure what dh is thinking but I'm sure we'll find an even balance
