Another busy day, a full day in the office in one job and then a late visit as part of my other job. I work 5-6 days between both jobs but my second job requires a lot of evenings and weekends so I can do both on the same day on occasion. Still it all builds up the pennies.
Had a great time booking some free workshops with the kids yesterday, they are going to 2 workshops with animals @ home next week - one session is focused on small furry animals and the second with scales and fishes! Then a couple of weeks time they have an hour session with a leading bike store looking at how to look after your bike. Brilliant, the kids are really excited.
Not much happening today in terms of finances, dh payday not until Monday so ticking along and just checked on banking only a couple of direct debits to go out before then. A few surveys done and that's about it, no spend day and food eaten from home.
All very boring really but that's good.

At home with the kids today, my parents are having them when I'm on my office days which is fantastic and saving me a fortune in holiday club fees. We will have to cook them a few meals over the summer to say thank you.
Still no further with the car payment, I checked with the finance company first who said they still hadn't been contacted then phoned insurance company who said again the money would be raised yesterday. I'm going to do a letter of complaint as it's nearly 3 weeks since I gave them all the information and permissions and still nothing has been done!
Plans for the day:
* Banking
* Surveys as they arrive
* Small shop to last until Monday
* Paperwork for second job
* Research ds birthday present (drumkit - electronic one so he can plug in headphones
)
A nice chilled out day, I do find I get frustrated when I can't pay something off the debt but it will progress soon enough.0 -
Its addictive wanting to get the numbers down isnt it. But they do go down

Well today started with a very rare lie in, this has not happened for many a year but I was shattered from working a 10 hour shift for my second job yesterday. It's a mainly physical job in sport so I was on my feet most of the day, I did manage to do over 9, 000 steps so earnt some Bounts points.
End of the month means that I need to do my pay claim for that job and report but I will do tomorrow when dh is at work and all is quiet.
I was really worried that we couldn't get ds an electronic drum kit for his birthday as too expensive but last minute I found a second hand one in our price range and dh is collecting tomorrow :T I think this definitely shows a change in our attitude as we probably would have got a new one and paid monthly before now but we were resigned to getting something else for his present.
Banking done today with all direct debits logged between now and next pay day (2 weeks), I need to pay a small amount to one of the overdraft to keep the bank happy, 1poll only needs £2.60 before pay out and other surveys building up nicely.
Thriftyness continues with dh and the kids making homemade pasta and meatballs, also need to cook off reduced price chicken for meals during the week. Tomatoes have been fed, washing on the line and all is well.0 -
Im so pleased you could find your son just what he wanted for half the price. Thats ace" Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

August already, blimey where does the time go!
Some good things and no steps forwards things today, firstly the infuriating insurance company - still hadn't contacted finance company and I was told, after complaining that I keep get told that payment will be raised each time I phone, that claims are now going to nominated team members and the girl who would be dealing with my claim would be on shift at 1230, I asked for a return phone call from her today when she had some news. Guess what, no call.
I have put in a complaint whilst I was waiting on the phone to speak to someone as i was waiting for 40 minutes! and had a email confirmation that they will look at this within 4 weeks. I am now going to phone them every day to be a nuisance until it's sorted. :mad:
In better news I picked up ds drum kit, it's absolutely perfect :j I can't wait for him to open it - 2 rolls of wrapping paper needed me thinks.
Had a call from office for second job, apparently they are sorting out a laptop for me which will be fantastic I've got to go for a team meeting in Cardiff in a few weeks so I would imagine I'll pick it up then along with some new kit.
I need to remember this month that I need to pay for dd uniform and not get over excited and put a extra payment on the debt, if I have anything after that I would look at what extra I can afford. It does help that dh payments towards his bike through work have finished so an extra £80 a month back in the household budget.
Working a late shift tomorrow so plenty of time to get back on the phone to insurance company, so much hassle for something that wasn't my fault.0 -
Had a nice morning at the pet shop, the kids loved hearing about the fish, geckos and bearded dragon, my dd wants a dragon but after hearing about the cost of the food and how long they live for it would take a lot of discussion about this because I can see muggins here having to look after it. Ds wants a rabbit, this is Friday's session, we will see!
Another phone call to insurance company, this time told payment would be received by 1730 - um no - another call in the morning this time I will ask to speak to a Manager.
Late shift went well, had to pop home for a few minutes and neighbour passed over a dozen eggs from his chickens. Scrambled eggs for breakfast then, yum.
1poll on a go slow, still £2.20 to go and not many surveys today either.
In the office all day tomorrow and Thursday then off with the kids again until Monday.
Night, night.

:j:j:j Yay phoned insurance company and payment has finally been raised so should hit my bank in the next couple of days, hire car has to go back next Thursday which means I need to contact car company to get next car brought over from another garage ready for a test drive at the weekend. It will be so good to have it sorted finally and get on with life!
Also a step closer to 1poll payout, never has £2 been so important in my journey to debt freedom
Busy day in the office today not helped by gremlins in the computer but seem to be actually getting somewhere with my role and the pile of paper work has seen a dent in it, ready for the next pile due to changes in legislation this then affects how we do our job and everyone's file has to be updated again. Still keeps me earning the pennies.
Next payday is in 12 days time, I definitely need to buy uniform with this, still undecided whether to get the trousers with the logo for £20 each or get cheaper without. I know other people have done this and even though it's annoying I don't want dd to get into trouble.
Timesheet done for second job, very low due to having a week of leave this will be better in September when I actually get a regular wage from this job.
That's all for now, H x0 -
How lovely to have fresh eggs given to you Huggle. I sympathise entirely with the insurance situation. I had to make a huge claim for my business in 2015 and it ended with me taking them to the ombudsman because the situation was so bad. Keep a record pf everything wont you.
So exciting the drum kit is coming home
