video transfer from ipad air to computer

There are several ways to do this.
If you don't want to use iTunes then you can use whatever program you have in Windows to store/catalog your pictures and video, is it called Photo Gallery? I can't remember. Your iPad should appear as a device.
Alternatively when you connect the iPad if you have iTunes installed it would normally open. As you don't want to use iTunes close it. You should then get an autoplay box with the choice to either open the iPad with the device options of import pictures and videos, this one should use the associated image software mentioned above.
There should also be the option to open using Windows Explorer and show you the 'Internal Storage' of the iPad. Click on this followed by the DCIM folder and then find the correct subfolder that contains the files you want, they do not have meaningful names. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -

Your laptop doesn't have wi-fi? How ancient is it?!
Another option for short videos is to use a cloud sync service such as Dropbox or Google Drive.0 -

You may be able to e-mail more than one with each e-mail. the iPad will stop you when you've attached too many0 -

Looks like no Autoplay is a common problem. A few solutions here but I am not sure how good they are https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3649253?tstart=00 -
The fact that it opens iTunes when you connect the iPad shows that things are working.
You must have turned off autoplay at some point.
Installing Windows Live Gallery isn't enough.
Your computer also has a setting which tells it what application to open when a device is connected based on the file types found on that device. At the moment your computer is set to use iTunes to handle pictures and video.
You also need to change this so that the iPad will open Windows Live Gallery rather than iTunes. I'm sure someone will be able to point you in the right direction but I'm a Linux and Mac user, my Windows knowledge is a little rusty.
An afterthought.
Why don't you save yourself the grief and simply let iTunes import the video files, you already have it installed, then export them to wherever you want them? One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Click on Start, type auto play in the search box and all the wonders of the universe open up in front of you - well actually not but you do get options to choose which programmes open for which particular file.0

If all else fails, you can get an adaptor that takes an SD cardI hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

No Auto play and no reconized in my computer devices..
Cannot understand why its ok with iphone but not with ipad..
i realiy hope someone knows how l can solve this problem.0 -
Ok here's a update on things..
Can get auto play on both devices and when l connect the iPhone goe onto computer, portable devices, internal storage and onto DCIM it brings up iPhone file folders so that's fine.
Now when l connect the iPad to the laptop the auto play comes on and l click onto photo gallery to import photo/videos and it says....
No photo /videos were found on this device.
So l go onto computer, portable device, internal storage and onto DCIM , click onto this but no folders show up..
Can someone help me out here ...will be grateful for any help.0
