    Hi Bob, fingers crossed for the location agency/filming, sounds exciting. :j:j

    Poor DD, not fun for anyone when wee ones are ill. Hope she's feeling better.

    Evening All

    Hope everyone is OK and keeping warm. It's brass monkeys here! Might go and squeeze into the icebox, it would be warmer. Today's update.

    Wealth

    * Had a lovely start to the day when I saw a set of comics had sold for £40 overnight. Having listed relisted and listed again just to be on the safe side since November, it felt good to finally make a sale. After costs, I paid £35 off the credit card. Which has brought me within spitting distance of £400.

    * £37 had appeared in the business account overnight.

    * Booked one new, new date, and finalised a long email discussion for two more days, finally. Value £300.

    * One phone enquiry but sadly both dates booked.

    * The first filming enquiry from last week got in touch to say they will make a decision early next week. This is not a big deal financially but it has very good PR opportunities if it comes off. It depends if it ever airs....

    * The big filming enquiry I talked about yesterday is still up in the air. I did chase up the email they'd promised with details, and now have that, they said I will know when they do.

    * Up to 29 enquiries in January now. Plus a few instances where existing clients have added dates to their calendars so more money booked.

    * Booked work with deposits to support them for February £839. Currently £295 surplus to overheads (due to no rent period) I am pleased with that. The big filming job would add £320 for 1 mornings work. I can't count on that. I will be taking bookings throughout the month as well because that's how it works. Need to keep hitting as hard as I can to have as much available for Bobs Big Bill (£1200) due in March.

    * I am still planning to sell my big piece of kit. And have been talking to the person who is going to help me. But they are very busy and so am I. So it is in the works but not a definite to help with BBB.

    Health

    * DD is still full of cold. But the rest of us are ok.

    Organisation

    * Had a box of eggs left so decided to do an All Day Breakfast for dinner. Boiled eggs and toast for me and the children, OH doesn't eat eggs. Did my home made baked beans, which were so nice on a cold evening. Sains had sausages for half price so bought two packs, one beef, one pork and cooked them all. We had one of each type each, there are 9 left for tomorrow. Did thick cut bacon & chips for OH and I.

    * OH sorted his security for new account today.

    * We tracked down the financial spreadsheet I was after the other day, can now update the pension info.

    That's it :)

    Any news today on the filming Bob?

    Thanks for asking Boxofpaws at present it's "don't call us we'll call you" but in a good way. I have everything crossed.

    Hope the film enquiry comes to fruition Bob - that would be fantastic :) x

    Definitely agree that consultancy can pay good money - OH is a consultant - but on a short term contract basis on a day rate. A six month contract easily sees us financially fit for the year, meaning he doesn't need to work all the time. However, the option to pick and choose work isn't there as such - he was without a contract for 11.5 months this time - which starts getting a bit squeakier - part of the issue is recruiters and employers don't seem to understand why he doesn't want to work all year round (who would, given the chance :D) - so any gap is often seen as 'bad'. Overall, though, we are financially better off (some) and much better off time-wise with consultancy based work, rather than a regular full time role. You have to trust a role will come along though - it has taken OH a while to not chase roles out of a sense of desperation and now that we are MF it does help with financial security. There are ups and downs....

    Thank you Greent I'm really hoping so!

    That's very interesting about your OH. It must have been a very long 11.5 months indeed. Don't envy you that at all. But the fact you budgeted for it is admirable. As you rightly say ups and downs but being MF must be incredibly comforting.

    Good Moaning

    Had a bit of a night of it with DD. I don't know why but that always means I end up doing more the next day not resting. So far today:

    * Hoovered all the ground floor.
    * Dusted and cleaned the DVD display unit.
    * Dusted two of our downstairs lampshades that were very dusty.
    * DW on.
    * Dusted and decluttered the main sideboard in the lounge.
    * Made a shopping list.
    * Checked banking.

    This afternoon

    * Hoovered upstairs.
    * Cleaned bathroom.
    * Load of washing on.
    * Emptied bins.
    * Answered two enquiries for future dates.
    * School run

    Tomorrow I just have one pleasant errand in the morning which I will cycle to and from. After that I am hoping to take the family to one of the city farms for a few hours.

    So pleased you've made that milestone :)
