More spends today :( Totally forgot DH & DS were off biking and camping this weekend. DS needed a few things (Not DH he does this frequently but first trip for DS) like torch and water bottle and some small toiletries to take. Was about £30 for everything but that also included slippers for DD and I our dog took a shine to our last pairs so this was me getting round to replacing them.

Might need to get a takeaway for tonight. DH friends were in doing some plaster work in the living room and there is some amount of dust about (as there always is after plastering work) I've already wiped down the kitchen twice and there is still some settling, will give it another go but I hate cooking and eating in dust.

I had a dream last night (unusual for me) about our level of debt. Can't remember much but I woke feeling really uneasy of course I also dreamt about buying a round of drinks in a bar and the bill for 8 drinks was over £100, really need to remember what bar that was and stay clear :rotfl:

Food budget is down a fair bit to £54.70 however we still have tons of food and with a few more birthdays still to be celebrated we will be at family's for dinner on those nights so I am not too worried.

Right off to try and get some more cleaning done.

Ended up with a takeaway in the end the kitchen is still dusty. DH said not to bother cleaning it again as the guys will be here again tomorrow for a short while and there will be more dust. Thankfully dinner is at family tomorrow night.

    So £21 spent.

Really doesn't help my goal to lose weight getting a takeaway. Weighed myself this morning and I am 9st10. For my height that is overweight so I aim to lose 1st by the end of the year.

Argh the dust is just every where again. So glad I won't need to cook today.

So had a few things to buy today, £3.48 on kitchen roll, wrapping paper and bubble bath.

Also had a few food items to buy £5.64.

Had a very MSE moment today, something we needed for the house we go today for an absolute bargain, instead of £700 we got it for £40 instead. Absolutely delighted and still can't believe it.

Well DS and DH were up and away camping and biking early.

I have cleaned, yet again, the kitchen so hopefully the dust has gone.

I totally forgot today I am meeting a friend for lunch, she reminded me last night. We are not meeting till 2pm so need to get a few things done before then.

Looks like it will be a nice dry day so going to get a washing on.

Gas and elec up till the 4th August is £11.02.

    Right best get moving.

Well I've just realised I was wrong about the 0% interest period on the credit card.

It seems it was 24 months on balance transfer and only 12 on purchases so we are now paying interest.

I spent last night snowballing and while it's not ideal to be paying interest but by doing it the snowball way I should minimise what needs paying.

DH and I are going to have a look at a few DD we have going out each month and I think I can save £120 each month. A good chunk of that is from an insurance payment we make each month but i am sure we are covered under another policy so i just need to find a few minutes to go through everything.

Chicken hotpot tonight, something nice and warm for the campers who are due back around 8pm tonight and it's in the slow cooker so no work needed just need to dish it up when everyone is ready.

Gas and elc is £13.14 up till the 5th August. Should not owe anything after the next DD to them so by October I am hoping to just pay the bill direct and anything left from the £136 we were paying wil go straight to the debt.

Have had a busy few days so taking 5 minutes to have a rest and catch up on here.

Gas & elec till the 9th is £23.13.

Dust at last has settled and the walls are ready to be painted. Doing extra hours at work this month again and work have said last months and this months should go through in August pay so I will use that to pay towards the credit cards.

Friend who also owes some of the £150 will pay me next week.

    Dinner is spag bol tonight.

Oh my it's been a very expensive few days but thankfully I think we are done spending on birthdays.

Need to have a stock check of food but I think we still have plenty to eat and £27 left of the budget.

10 days till my pay day and it can't come quick enough. Have a busy week ahead kids back at school. In fact don't think I have a free day now till the 24th.
  • Wow 10 days since I have been on.

Well HR finally got back to me re upping my hours, nothing permanent in place but I defiantly have extra hours this month, September and October after that who knows but all extra money will help.

I am however getting tired doing extra hours, the house is a tip, I am behind on the washing etc but will spend the next few days getting everything back on track.

So far gas and elec up to 23rd Aug is £58.05 so on track with this.
  • Saturday night and yet again I am going through our finances.

Start of school year has been expensive as after school activities are back and subs need to be paid. Also DH is away with friends so he had some stuff to buy and needed money.

Anyway only have £300 to put to debt this month.

Need to do a big food shop. Will do that tomorrow, then spend the afternoon bulk cooking some meals for the week.

Gas and Electric up till 26th August is £64.93
  • Yesterday I did some gardening and dear lord I am suffering today. Parts of my body ache that I didn't know could ache lol

So I have had a good tidy and sort through of the kitchen and a big food shop done.

Spent £129 but have a months worth of meat and chicken along with cheese and butter and some other items.

Have a load of washing on and hope to get that outside to dry to save using the tumble dryer.

Not sure what's for dinner, DH not yet sure if he is going to be back from his weekend away before dinner or not so will wait to hear from him.

Dog still to be walked but he looks in no hurry to go out and I think I might go and have a wee nap or lie down just to ease the aches.
