Advice on Broadband and Wifi in the house

Hi all,
We are currently with BT for our phone/broadband/TV and are meant to get speeds of "upto" 52mb.
Our contract runs out in a few days and we are deciding whether to move.
One problem we have had with BT is our wifi. Our hub is downstairs and our smart tv in the bedroom buffers when watching netflix. Also, our mobile phones seem to have poor wifi connection (especially if the bedroom tv is running netflix). We aren't massively techie people - is this to do with the download speeds or the range or wifi or something else? The TV is about 10/15m from the hub and our download speed currently is 28mb according to a speedchecker.
Virgin media offer a package with "upto" 50mb speed for a better price.
Can anyone advise on the wifi issue please - if it is speed related/distance related etc?
Thank you!!

I've just started entering the competitions (July 07). When I win I'll update this signature. Look on the bright side, I shouldn't have to update it very often.

28mb is over the top rather than under for a TV .
Any slowing down over WiFi is usually down to the user .
One interference on the channel in use Change it .
Two walls
Three Phones its probably as 1.
Up to is what it says and dependant upon many factors . Actual speed is measured from the master socket via Ethernet cable or by logging in to your BT Home Hub router .
Do you have VM cable to your house .
As the BT Home Hub 5 is one of the best ISP supplied WiFi routers doubt VM router helping .
My setup is roughly the same and incomming at the router is 52 mb and upstairs WiFi is between 50 and 34 mb .
Have you checked your BT members help pages and community forum ??0 -
