    I remember years ago when I ran a garage the owner would seek the odd car to help towards payroll.

    It was fairly common for certain "youth" to buy a car, drive it for a few weeks then find some spurious fault to attempt to get a full refund.

    One even cut one of the steering rack gaiters with a knife and said it was split when they bought it, he should have done his cutting a bit sooner as there was not a hint of flies leaking from the gaiter and it was spotless outside and in.

    As I have said before for every dishonest trader there are many more dishonest consumers.

    Which just makes things harder for the honest people on both side of the fence.
