Multiple phones on one contract

Hi all,
Wonder if anyone can help. My girlfriend in the states is on a contract where multiple phones (ie, users) can share the minutes and texts offered in the contract. I think this is an excellent idea, and wonder if it is offered in the UK. Basically, with the contract you choose, you can select up to 4 phones to share the minutes and texts with.
Anyone know if it is done, and if so where can I access this sort of deal? Would be good to share a contract with my girlfriend because even with the most limited amount of minutes on a contract, we probably won't use them each, but would between us.
Thanks!!

There's a new T-Mobile contract. I think it's called Family Share or something. I'm not too up on it, but I believe you get unlimited calls between your "family" on the contract and a bunch of minutes to share on a first come first served basis.0
