And why when proven to have erred, its very costly to the local authorities concerned.


Given the reputational damage - as well as financial in terms of credit scores - you'd hope orgs would take more care.


In the past 3 months, there's been several instances of PLCs and councils obtaining CCJs and writing to the wrong address respectively.


I have no idea whether this is what happened to the OP but I trust the matter will be referred to the Local Govt Ombudsman.

After demanding & harassing me for over three years, to the point of suicide, for more than £3700.00, WOKING BOROUGH COUNCIL has finally admitted that in fact I am due a refund as I over paid on my Council Tax.
They have spent hundreds of pounds of public money in sending me threatening letters, Council Tax demands & Court Orders, when in fact I did not owe any money to them & they already had all the information from me.

I gave WBC ALL the information about myself, being single, living alone & on what benefits I was claiming from day one. I HAVE PROVEN THIS TO THE COUNCIL.
They even claimed(in their attempt to steal money from me) that I did not apply for Council Tax Benefits, for the year 2016/2017, until JULY 2016, this turned out to be another LIE, as I then put in front of them a WBC receipt confirming that my application was handed in on APRIL 2016.(within the official time limit).

Can someone please tell me how is it that even though I informed WOKING BOROUGH COUNCIL & GUILDFORD MAGISTRATES COURTS that I did not receive a Summons/Trial date & even after putting in a SIGNED & STAMPED(by me & a Solicitor)SATITUARY DECILARATION a re-trial of my case was REFUSED by both Woking Borough Council & Guildford Magistrates Courts???

GUILDFORD MAGISTRATES COURTS ARE NOW REFUSING TO REPLY TO ANY OF MY EMAILS, REQUESTING INFORMATION ON MY SO CALLED TRIAL & ARE NOW TOTALLY SILENT ON THIS MATTER.

As far as I am concerned a ONE SIDED, CORRUPT trial took place behind locked doors, without me even being there & I have been found guilty of non payment of Council Tax, that I have now 100% PROVEN I do NOT owe.

This is what happens when CORRUPT organisations conspire to steal money from innocent people.
