Thanks for thinking of me Sally - I'm fine, just mega busy. The deadline for the first 2 exam papers has overlapped with the starting of the next 2 so I've had a really busy couple of days with trying to get all of that done along with work and then last night travelling down to London.
It was quite pleasant at home yesterday - much cooler with occasional heavy rain but when I got to London at 10pm I felt like I was dying it was so hot! It's been a bit of an uncomfortable night but I'm up and almost raring to go for my meeting today. Trying to get an hour of marking in before I go but the internet here isn't so great so I thought I would catch up on here while I'm waiting.
There really isn't much else to report. Hopefully I'll get a bit of time later this evening.

    Hello :hello: :coffee:
Did you think I'd died under my pile of marking?
Well not quite, but I had a load of deadlines arriving all together between Friday and yesterday on top of being in London, travelling home etc. So I've basically just been too busy to do anything at all. I'm ok, and things will ease up a lot over the next couple of weeks but at the moment I'm still more busy than I'd like.
I just thought that I would pop on and say hello - I will be back properly over the next day or two for a catch up but for now, just checking in.

    Hey CCL,

I've been absent myself lately and thought I'd swing by and see how you're getting on.

Hope you're managing ok with the marking and life in general.

Next day or two :rotfl: I think I did actually collapse under my marking for a while - I've been marking every spare minute I had to meet deadlines. Yesterday was the final deadline for one of the papers so now just 1 still going on, which means I can take time to relax a bit even though there's still work to do. Priority tonight is to eat something that isn't out of the microwave, followed by some crochet and some marking. Might be too tired to properly catch up on here today but life is starting to return to normal.
    And it's almost the 6 weeks :D

Normal service shall resume shortly. There are 150 unmarked papers between me and normality. I will have a load of catching up to do on here.... 8 more get ups!

Glad to see you're still alive and avoiding suffocation from the marking.

    Hey everyone :hello:
I've found myself with a spare 10 minutes at work and have decided to come on here and update. Not that there's much to report - my life has literally been work, exam marking and very little else. I've been roped into all sorts of extra marking as well so just as I've been thinking that I'm done then more stuff has landed (particularly in the past fortnight). I have a deadline of this weekend for the two papers I'm currently working on, then the last paper starts on 30 July for a fortnight.
I have been saying that I think I've taken too much on this year as I've been really busy and really tired. But the money has started arriving and it makes such a difference. It's quite a lot of money this year as well as I've done so much extra. I think I would really like to do a nice family holiday abroad with some of it - but I'm very aware that we need a lot of work doing on the house as well and I might feel guilty spending a load on holidays while the house is so shabby (as my mother loves to remind me). And we've never been abroad before either so I wouldn't know where to start with destinations etc. I just know I need to not fritter it away on takeaways and making my life too easy (although I'm still looking to get a cleaner once I declutter the house - I've decided to hire a skip and Konmarie my life when the big hols tick around).
So I'm wondering what you lot have been up to while I've been in exam marking world. I don't have time to check just now but I will make the effort to get back into it all sooner rather than later. I've missed my mse friends and my mse ways are out of the window at the moment with 80+ working hours a week. There's just no time for anything else. I need to get my frugality back...

I'm really pleased that you are noticing the difference for all the extra work you have going on at the moment CCL. I think a holiday abroad would be lovely for you all - you've had a tough couple of years, and memories are worth way more than a lick of paint....but that's just my unsolicited opinion :)
Plus if you join a group like holiday pirates, you often find amazing deals if you don't mind being a bit last minute? Best of both worlds maybe? x

That's the problem Kirsty - I have literally no idea where to even start in terms of looking for a family holiday. It's so many years since DH and I went away, and we've never ever been away as a family of four. I don't know where we would go, what we would do and where is good value bearing in mind I am restricted to actual school holidays £££££££
    I will research some more.
Does anybody think all inclusive is the way to go? It seems like a good value thing to me but again I just don't know...
