It tells you a fare bit. You can look at the searches, title and plan. If its leasehold, it will tell you a lot. The epc is a waste of time.

Those are things, especially the searches, which I will have to get done on anywhere I would want to buy, so that they are up to date, and as specific as I require.

I agree, the EPC is absolutely a waste of resources!

Yes. The problem is a buyer, or most likely his solicitor, may want to get more up to date searches than in the hips pack, as it may take months to sell the house. Searches have a life of about 5 months and if a hip is dropped on a solicitors desk he may wish, quite rightly, to get new ones. It will be interesting to see if the buyer insists the seller pays or the seller says bog off, you pay, i have done what the law requires! Not happened yet as the hips have;nt been out long enough.
  • Um, if it's been deleted, maybe that's why I didn't know who you were referring to!

If you look at post #7 you will see that I quoted the post which has been deleted.

#1. The people that run these "sell your house and rent back" companies are generally lying thieves and are best avoided

#2. This time next year house prices in general will be lower than they are now

#3. Cheap houses are a good thing not a bad thing
  • ...am confused again ... just looked at post 7, and you refer to something called quickmovenow .... looked at them on the web, and I can see that they're buying houses at well below market value, probably not good. I still stand by my comment about the govt, whether these other guys are good or bad!
  • sorry, ignore post .... wasn't focussing .. sorry ....
