I would say no, you only have four types of vegetable and no fruit! You can also get two loaves of bread for around 75p.

Tbh I think that's dreadful. Fizzy pop? Cakes? Milkshakes ?

Yet only a pack of peppers, bag of onions, pack of toms and a carrot

Where is your meal plan? What did you make out of all of that? Where is the veg and fruit?

A list like that means nothing unless there is context

If you are serious about a meal plan for £20 a week then that's what you have to plan for. Pricing up every component. Your bits you already had in aren't going to be already in when you have used them up. How are you planning on replenishing them

Relying on mum and dad for take outs and family meals is also not balancing the books

Go look at jack munroes website for recipe ideas and then write a meal plan with costings. Yes I can say that you have done ok getting through the week on so little, but that menu is not a healthy one and really isn't sustainable long term

You need more protein and more fruit and veg and fibre. That's carb and sugar loaded
  • I forgot to mention that TESCO's were giving out fruit so we did have a few peices.

Since you are just learning, it's an OK start.

I would have missed out the milkshake, and breakfast waffles and bought some veggies with the money.
Also, porridge oats will be cheaper than waffles, a big bag is about 80p, and will last you much longer than 1 week.

Every week is a new chance to learn, so keep it up :)

The pasta sauce you bought for £1. Read the ingredients that are on the label. It's probably only tomatoes; onions, and a few herbs. It's easier and cheaper to make your own, a pot of dried herbs in Asda are about 28p, you'll only need a sprinkling.

If you have a Heron near you, i've been getting 1.5kg chicken thighs for £1.49
Your cheese, how much/big ? In FarmFoods 300gm is 99p

If you want masses of sugar and salt!

Breakfast is purely carbs on the whole, not great, why not have tomatoes with your egg and change cereal for a slightly better carb like porridge, which is also very cheap.

Lunches are carb and salt central. Curly fries are also very expensive.

Tea again, carb and salt central.

As a diabetic if I ate your diet for a week my blood sugar would be seriously high.

You can have a burger if a decent meat content, but skip the bun and have salad instead. If you have a sandwich, make sures its brown bread and doesn't contain some awful reformed meat. You can have proper chicken, beef, pork, egg, of course with salad or humous etc.

If you're stewing veg you're losing lots of the good stuff, stew your meat, although avoid poor quality sausages, but steam or microwave your veg and add it to the pot at the last minute.

Yes they are, some people don't like the texture as much as fresh. Fresh veg stored correctly will easily last a week.
