Any ideas what he is playing at?
I received a credit card today for my business account, I then got a call from business manager and he sounded joyful " did you get the credit card I sent you? " to which I replied " Yes but i dont like credit cards so I shredded it "
why would he send me that? I almost thought someone applied for one on my behalf, are they still on commission?

Why didn't you ask him?0 -
Surely in this day and age after all the hullabaloo about miss-selling the OP would have HAD to sign an application for this card?
If not I would complain!0 -
Way back at the dawn of time when credit cards were Access if they were not VISA it was a common ocurrence that a bank which had a new credit card sent one to all eligible account holders without asking. But I havent seen that for donkeys years. These days an application has to be done first.0

That was my thought too. I would ask for the completed application form to determine who had signed it, and as that presumably was not the OP the person who did sign it will probably be out of a job (and quite right too).0 -
You need to make sure the Credit Card account is closed as just destroying the card won't do much good!.
I would also be putting in an official complaint and at the very least getting a new business account manger if you didn't sign any documents or give verbal permission for this card!.0 -

a lot of business bank contracts allow the bank to extend credit in whatever form as they see fit.
So before the op gets egg on their face and annoys their business account manager at the bank they should check their paperwork carefully.0
