Npower could save me £200 a month (just used the MSE Cheap Energy Club tool). The only thing is they also say Npower has low customer satisfation (15% great - 58% poor).
All the other top picks from the club are from tiny companies I have never heard of for example,
The next best result is a saving of £154 (AVRO) however they only have the feedback of 12 votes on customer service and it - 50% great - 25% poor.
Huby wants a good customer care company - I just want to save money. How do you chose your Energy Company and what is your advicee for me?

The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer - I was in my late 20s when I figured out what this meant.
I neither take or enter agreements which deal with interest. I dont want to profit from someone's misery.

In theory if the company is good enough you shouldn't even need to contact customer care. But my advice is - avoid Npower or Scottish Power.0 -
The company that is going to be the cheapest for me. I email my readings monthly, a person always replies saying they have updated my account, get a quarterly bill, pay it. Simple. I never need to contact customer care for anything else.

As above biggest does not mean best .
Never had to contact CS in over 45 years on this supply .
Be aware that this saving may be just an estimate .Depends upon what its based on and how high your current tariff is .Not to say your actual next years consumption .0 -
Its combination of supplier + price for me.
Unless Scottish power, npower or one of the newer suppliers is >£50 cheaper than anyone else I wouldn't go with them. The potential of poor CS is a lot higher so I have to weigh up the price saving v's the probability of having to spend time on the phone to customer service.
In the last 6 years I've been with BG, EDF, E.on & SSE and only had to spend maybe 15 minutes of my time with customer service. Most of that time was due to me gaming the system a little bit.0 -
The least painful.
If it's too expensive, you will feel it.
If they mess consistently, you'll know it too.
In either case, it would drive me to move.0 -
Sorry, I meant I could save £200 a year (not month). The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer - I was in my late 20s when I figured out what this meant.I neither take or enter agreements which deal with interest. I dont want to profit from someone's misery.0

I choose my separate suppliers on price. I have had issues with 2 of the Big 6 and two of the smaller suppliers. If I find CS to be unresponsive/unhelpful, then I just ditch and switch. Most people get into difficulties by not providing their supplier with frequent meter readings. Having switched 6 times since January last year, I have now been with Zog and GBEnergy for over 6 months. CS has been excellent but if a lower price comes up on CEC tomorrow, then I will just switch away. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. They are all the same, I swap every few months.
They supply me with energy and I pay them, that's it, customer service does not come into it.4kWp, South facing, 16 x phono solar panels, Solis inverter, Lincolnshire.0 -
I wouldn't go with Npower if they were going to give me the energy for free! I tend to avoid the smaller companies too. So if switching I would probably choose the cheapest of the big 6 (apart from Npower)Make £10 per day-
June: £100/£3000 -
I like to stay with a reliable supplier such as British Gas but I m willing to switch to anyone other than Npower, Scot Power, Spark Energy, First Utility, Utility Warehouse. looks like with the rising prices I m staying with BGs cheaper no frills supplier, Sainsburys Energy when I got the best dual fuel deal in the UK till June 2017 ..can anyone beat their leccy (of which I m a bigger user than gas ) of only 7.87p per kwhr ? and thats a single rate tariff not an Eco 7 one.
I have never had a problem with anyone, even Npower.Maybe it because I do the correct thing and don`t expect my supplier to possess second sight.0
