Was moving into a new build of flats a month ago so I ordered SSE broadband and phone line in Weeks before moving in.
and told sse it was a new build when signing up with them, and wasnt warned of delays

I was told my go LIVE date was 5th July, so I used mobile data until then tethering to my computer

Then on the 5th I get a call from SSE saying as it is a new build the installation is going to take a few more weeks
I told them how I need the internet all day and they reluctantly agreed to cover the cost of a wifi dongle
I was then told a BT open Reach engineer need to install the line as it is a new flat,

So this engineer came round but BT forgot to install the line first of all so nothing is working still

I informed SSE and they have requested this installation from BT, but they are still awaiting a response

This has been such a nightmare

I am at home on the Internet most of the day due to disability, and all I have been doing since living here is constantly monitoring my data usage and limiting myself what I do on the Internet in fear of going over my limit
I signed up for unlimited fibre/ anytime ninutes with SSE.
I am also repeatedly topping up my pay-as-you-go Sim card to make daytime telephone calls

SSE have now said next Monday BT open reach will come here and look at my lines but that I shouldn't expect anything to change all my Internet to go live as there seems to be a problem

Do I have any grounds to complain further? compensation for there mistakes?

thank you

The ISP has probably gone as far as can be expected by providing a free MiFi. I doubt they are required to do anything other than apologise.

ISPs are at the mercy of Openreach for line installation and BT Group are under threat that the Openreach division will be forced to split off as an independent company because of their known poor performance.

No-shows are common. I've had one myself in the past. I think if you wait in and they don't turn up you may be able to get a derisory £10 compensation.
