I've noticed that a lot of compers have seriously depressing lives...especially when a competition asks..'tell us why you deserve..blah blah?'
my girlfriends aunties cat died
I've been volunteering since last year
I have to take my kids to school
sometimes I just read the replies when I'm having a slow day
what's the funniest comment you have read?

I always get the Simon Bates 'Our Tune' theme in my head during the advents, and it lasts for a whole month until they are over.
TBH though, some people do the sob story thing all year round. Some of them are rather clumsy as well, they always seem to breaking bones. Not saying some stuff isn't true, but some of the stuff is quite shocking.
Although you have to give them credit, 'cos those ones are better reading than the now seemingly standard...
'OMG OMG OMG!! what an amazing prize. I really need to win one of those - insert carp/wondrous prize here - OMG how wonderful, please pick me, thankyou for running such a great competition, it's a privilege to enter this fantastic competition'..... etc, etc.
I don't grudge anybody a win 'cos we all aim to win something good, but stuff like that gets on my nerves. No wonder I've slowly moved away from FB and do more Twitter comps. Less characters = less eye strain
