Morning All
Warm here and sunny too! Yesterday was very hot and humid but not much sun. The washing dried really quickly, not enough for a load today.
Feel better soon Gers and Mr Candlelight.
Good luck to Mr Coxy.
Went shopping with DD to Costco yesterday to stock up on loo rolls, coffee and chicken, also went to Tesco and got some new desert bowls, all my crockery (botanic garden) is now boxed up ready to give to my friend, she has loved it for ages and will be moving to a little cottage soon so it will suit the place. I've had it for years and fancy a change. All I need now is to get hold of the builder to renew the kitchen.
Off for a swim later then the day is my own, I've been given lots of books so will make a start!
Take care. XX0 -
Morning chums,
Yesterday after work my GF, Mum and Step Dad all played badminton and I was knackered. The heat in the hall meant there was condensation on the floor so it was super slippy and my trainers have became a bit smooth on the underside so that didn't help. We came home and made spicy soy steak with rice and then sat to watch GoT.
Woke up shattered this morning. I'll get through this glorious day at my desk and then go to the gym. The gym that my friend has opened so I'll pay my £5 in and give it a go.
Gers - Get well soon.
candlelight - Hope you DH gets on the mend soon.
Coxy - Fingers are crossed for your DH!
Jackie - As always, good luck with the quiz.
Lainey - Hope your mum feels better soon.
Redruby - I used to work in a kitchen and likewise, it got very hot. We were then told that legaly, when over a certain temp, you can demand a break. So bear that in mind if it gets too much.0 -

Gers sorry about the tummy upset, but your holiday sounds amazing and it was lovely to have a daily report.
Thanks Candlelight. It was something I ate in Glasgow, it wasn't bad or off just very spicy, which I enjoyed. Unfortunately my internal combustion wasn't so appreciative.
Today I feel so much better so it's skates on now with sorting out the living room. The table for upstairs arrived whilst I was away but the one for downstairs is stuck somewhere - the joys of rural living. JL have to sub-contract the delivery which means it takes longer and arrives when the company passes the house. Fingers crossed for today.
I've opened both back and front doors and already had a bird in the living room. There's no wind for a change so the birds just seen the large window and think it's air. Swallows are the worst as they just keep flying and it's tea towel flapping time, chaffinches and tits keep banging themselves against the same piece of window.
Back to BSD now after the decadence of having three meals provided each day plus wine each evening. So it's been avocado and poached egg this morning.
Sunshine here we come!0 -
Hi everyone,
Gers, I had an upset stomach as well yesterday, as did DD (not related because we haven't seen each other). There must be something going around, just as long as it isn't the e-coli virus!
Still feel a bit dodgy so I'll be taking it easy today. Just a bit of sewing which takes place in a north facing room so it's a lot cooler than the living room which faces directly south (great in winter, unbearable at times in the summer).0 -
Afternoon all
It's far too hot for me outside so I'm in the lounge which never gets the sun, doors and windows wide open throughout the house.
No plans for the day, car less again anyway.
OS wise - WM been on twice with bedding and a few odd bits, on the whirly now. Hoovered downstairs, cleaned family bathroom and wiped kitchen over. DW will go on after lunch.

Stifling hot so had a late breakfast of a bacon butty and a tall cold drink. All the windows are open and plan to have a lazy day using the food I have in the fridge.
DD has asked me to take parcels to the post office for her which is not far away but I don't want to go out till after three when it should be a bit cooler.
The builders are due tomorrow to finish off some jobs so I want to look through the boxes in the integral garage and sort out what is in there, label it and sort what can be given away.
Candlelight
I hope things have been nipped in the bud and DH feels better.
Fingers crossed for mr coxy.
I still need to unload the dishwasher etc but it is too hot to move right now so will go and have an ice lolly.

Well, kidney function for Himself seems to have stabilised, now it must start to rise. It would appear that GP has tweaked the right medication hopefully.
He has to have more bloods taken in 2 weeks and see the doctor the following day.
RANT ALERT
Would you believe it, we walked in and the doctor says how are you, and he says WONDERFUL. I want to say if that is so, why am I having a hard time with you and your moods. I know I am closest so I get the brunt of it all, but I just wish, when I ask him, he would say wonderful. just once I understand why he gets down I am just feeling a bit sorry for myself today. RANT OVER.
The weather is lovely, albeit very hot. I am not going to moan about that as well, but I am not a lover of very hot weather. Nothing planned this afternoon, and I will just play on here whilst Himself has his siesta.

Hot, hot, hot we needed to go out this morning rather than leave it until this afternoon. So went to Bingham for the library, OH went to get wire from the iron mongers and went into Boyes, fell off the fabric wagon, they had some really nice batik type fabric at £4.75metre. I bought 3 half metres.
We have just has lunch in the garden, but the sun has moved and the back is now getting the sun. I left the curtains drawn this morning, it has kept the sitting and bedroom much cooler.
I have had to take a bag I made to bits, the zip was just wrong, so I need to re-sew that. Ironing will have to wait until its a heck of a lot cooler. The sitting room thermometer is showing 27c. Might need to put the fan on in the sitting room and bedroom later.0 -
Believe it or not it's really hot here too! I've just raked and cut the grass as rain is forecast for about 5pm, come inside to cool down a little.
I've been making a bag from a kit DD was given and I've finished it - not bad for a first try, I think I'll make a shopper next as I am quite enjoying myself, probably because I'm not at work and can take my time. I am really bad at starting something else before I finish but have been strong with myself!
Bet you could scream at OH candlelight!
I feel for you flutterby, DD was born at the end of July and I can remember feeling the heat too.0 -
Internet ate my post. Am still not well, but not as dismal as before. Hope everyone else well, sorry to hear that you have poorly tummy Gers xxI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0
