School hols dreading it or can't wait?

Hi there. How all you mums/dads/ grandparents feeling about school hols. I've got a 6 year old and a ten year old. Haven't a clue what I'm doing with them this year. Last few years we've done all the parks, cinema,beach, painting, play dough, camping, colouring in. The list goes on. I'm running out of things to do with…

Summer holidays - dreading it.

However probably not for the expected reasons... It is when I feel like a rubbish parent. I don't get to spend enough time with the children and the time I do spend is often running around doing mundane things.

We have our two week holiday, which will be fantastic, but other than that I will be working Mon to Thursday each week. The children will go to a sports club from 8 till 5, which they love (although eldest turns 12 in October and I will have to find somewhere new for her) but I feel sad that I am unable to spend more if the holiday with them. OH is a contractor, so other than our "holiday" he won't be able to take any time off.
