Stamp Duty question

Hi all

I'm new to the forum, pleased to be here.

I've had a search through the forum and through various websites but cannot find the answer I'm looking for so hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

My partner and I are looking to buy our first house (both first time buyers) and wanted to know how much SDLT we would be paying on a purchase price of £240k.

I've seen some websites say it it 1% on £125-£250k and other websites say it is 2%.

Any help would be much appreciated and sources of information would be great.

Thanks
Ro

Google "SDLT calculator" and go to the first result.

Thanks but this doesn't take into consideration any reliefs that used to exist for first time buyers. Do they still exist or does everyone simply pay the 2% regardless of first home or not?

It's 2% for the bit that's over £125000 I think so it will be £2300. Don't think there's any relief for 1st time buyers .

It doesn't take them into consideration because they were abolished several years ago.
