On the certificate it says:
What is protected?
Flight and Hotel Package to Lisbon for 7 nights
It says Package Sale on bottom right corner.
So I should be okay?
LastMinute hold an Atol licence. As this is an Atol protected booking LM as the Atol holders, are responsible.
They will have to either source your accommodation again through a separate supplier, or offer an alternative. If they can't do either to your satisfaction then you are entitled to cancel with a refund for both accommodation and flights.
You need to contact LM.0 -
Ok, so my friend has booked through last minute and can't get hold of anyone at last minute, lines are dead. She has called the hotel to be told that her booking is there but she needs to cancel and rebook. Only she was then told it needs to be the tour operator that cancels not her. She is in total limbo as to what to do.I find this board makes me spend more than I save!:rotfl:0

Leylandsunaddict, your response is incorrect, the ATOL Certificate identifies BravoNext as the ATOL holder, in this case he simly used the last minute website to book with low cost who in turn booked with BravoNext. Last Minute nowadays is not the last minute of old at all0

I know LM aren't what they used to be. They are owned by Bravofly Rumbo  How could they possibly be any good? No wonder they changed the group name to LM! They do hold an Atol though, and even when they use someone elses Atol, as the agent they should be sorting this out for their customer. That's part of the agents job.0 -
The ATOL holder is based in Swizterland as I advised yesterday, the booking conditions make it clear that Last Minute is not the agent in this case, Low Cost was the agent of Bravo, Low Cost isn;t going to help so it is Bravo you have to contact0

That seems very unlikely, has your friend checked the number that they are calling? It appears to be 0800 083 4000 for all customer service calls. There are also a few alternative numbers on saynoto0870.0 -
Very interesting and informative thread this.
Just goes to show how underhand and devious some of these holiday companies are.
I'm off to California shortly having booked the trip myself. One of my hotels has been booked via LM so will be checking the email tonight to see who it was actually booked with. It never crossed my mind that it could have been booked through someone else.0 -

Almost nobody contracts all their hotels directly, except possibly a few niche operators with a very small product portfolio. Buying a share of products from third parties is absolutely an industry norm, including for the biggest players in the industry. The share of third party inventory will vary by company. Even Booking.com takes feeds from their sister company Agoda, don't know if they have any other third parties.0
