Why should people answer your questions when you're ignoring everyone else?
Have you paid rent since October?0 -

You could download the land registry title register & if he had a mortgage there should be a charge on there with the company name. I doubt they would communicate with you though.
Have you searched online to check whether anything comes up if you search the LL's name & bankruptcy?
Regardless of the above suggestions I personally would be posting the key through the letterbox & not entering a property I do not have permission to enter.0 -
So you were hoping for a loophole by which you would have kept the right to remain in the flat -or come back to it- but not hedge to pay rent. What makes you think that you should have an entitlment to free accommodation?0

Either your tenance ended around the time you left and you have no rights to return to the property, or the tenancy didn't end and you should have been paying rent in the interim.
There is no middle way of recommencing an old tenancy with no rent paid in between.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Why do you need to contact the new property owner? If they aren't looking for a tenant they won't let you live there, just find somewhere else to rent.0

First day of the school holidays.
It's only going to get worse.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
As you know the landlord is bankrupt and, from replies above, you know squatting is illegal, don't bother going back there - it could be waiting for a sale to complete or be up for sale - just destroy the key and accept that your tenancy ended when your contract ended, which would be acceptable since you have effectively lived elsewhere since the end of the contract.
As further said above by other posters, if you do move back in you will be liable for many thousands in unpaid rent because you will be deemed to have been on a periodic monthly contract since the old one ended.
Find somewhere else to rent.0
