It wouldn't surprise me if Barry was happy to go on air - just not with that pillock Chris Moyles0

Wow, not everyone is an extrovert who wants to go on the radio.
In which case they shouldn't really enter on air radio comps then as they usually require you to prerecord at least one little section where you are told you are a winner. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

I understand they have a right to be mad if it they were expecting an interview through the terms and conditions but they could have chosen the right think to do and been 'mad' behind the scenes instead of exposing it publicly in what I thought was a very rude and uncalled for way0

I'm a screaming radio winner, over the years well over £10,000 cash 3 holidays and tech, And I'll carry on screaming as I'm always shocked I get picked!!!
Capital cash call in October I begged my phone to ring, as in I talked to my phone saying ring ring capital!!! and when It did I went to pieces and was screaming so hard they told me I was radio gold! It was 5k a few months before xmas too right I was screaming!

I think anyone entering a radio comp has to realistically expect they are going to want to speak to you on air or record a short segment. I think the frustrations from the station this time seemed to be they were getting a bit of the runaround rather than the winner flat out saying 'i won't do it'.
As a result, they were scheduling a couple of minutes for it in their show only to be let down so they filled it how they saw fit which is their prerogative.
Yeah, you could say it's a bit mean - but that's what the media does. Was giving them the runaround any meaner? They are in the entertainment industry - they were always going to fill it in the way they thought would be most entertaining for their listeners. Choice 1 - talk to the happy winner. Choice 2 - make fun of him.0 -
As he was able to text he could have said that he can't talk but thank you for the prize, it was great.. they would have then read that out instead..June 2016 Wins: £64 Argos Voucher :j July 2016 Wins: £25 Cash :j0

I think it is part of the deal to do a big reaction on the radio. When I've won on radio before they've actually said to me you will do a big reaction won't you it is a big prize.
I think he sounded pretty ungrateful. It would have been 30 seconds on air.Top wins in 2018: Trip to Iceland, helicopter ride over london, couples massage, £300 flight from Pringles, trip to Paris, cocktail making class and afternoon tea up the shard. .
Top wins in 2017:holiday to the Bahamas, trip to Paris, meal with champagne, a week in a manor house in France with £500 spending money.0 -
They should tighten up their T&C's so if they wished at least they could have stopped the Sky package part of the prize and given it to someone who would cooperate with them.0

I'm a bit torn on this, I think the complaining was over the top, but they didn't use his real name and it sounds like he was a bit of a pain.
He could have told the producers he didn't want to go on air but how grateful he was for the prize etc.0 -
I've won a few radio comps ( OK Not enormous ones - biggest around £500 each) and have never been asked to go on radio, if i had I would have been polite - I have a face for radio , and having been quoted in a local sports item once can say I sound decidedly poshproud gran to 4 lovely boys and one little girl0
