O2, free incoming calls roaming in Spain?

We have friends who travel to Spain a lot and they use an O2 PAYG mobile. Checking O2 roaming charges, it shows that it's free to receive calls while in Spain.

I can't find detailed terms and conditions on the O2 site, anyone know what restrictions might apply?

It's a cheap way for us to keep in touch, as we have a lot of monthly minutes to call them, but would hate for them to fall foul of some T&Cs and either be cut off, or charged after x minutes.

Maybe not relevant, but I use a virgin payg regularly abroad as you get free roaming & have never had any problems with excessive charges.
ANURADHA KOIRALA ??? go on throw it in google.

I've been through the web pages and haven't found any real nuts and bolts "small print".

It looks too good to be true that someone potentially could take a PAYG O2 phone to Spain, make one chargeable text message (1p) each month to keep the SIM active and enjoy their family and friends being able to call them for "nothing" without a time limit.

Maybe it is that good :)

O2 roaming fees, 3.6 pence a minute for outgoing calls, free incoming, 1.2 pence to send a text, 4.3 pence a megabyte.

Other main networks pretty similar, about 4 pence outgoing, 1p incoming, etc

Maybe this year is a golden age, as networks are theoretically allowed to charge more, and next year or so roaming will be same cost as at home, i.e. potentially more.

Why anyone would still pay £2 to £4 a day for option bundles, I don't understand. Anyone who wants significant data use as well get a local SIM.

Anyone who wants to be even more cheapskate on outgoing calls, buy an EE SIM for 99 pence on eBay, with £5 credit. Or use cheaper third party callback with the O2 SIM.
